    Production Supervisor

    Role Context

    • Conduct safe declarations before the start of shift.
    • Facilitate the daily Safety meeting before proceeding to your work area.
    • Ensure that a pre-start checklist (both the bakkie being used and all equipment responsible for in the pit) is done every day before your shift starts; this is done by completing a pre-start checklist. This checklist must be signed by you and counter signed by the Engineering department delegate.
    • Your Pit Superintendent will give you instructions regarding area of responsibility for each shift.
    • It is your responsibility to ensure that you wear the required PPE as indicated to you during site Induction.
    • It is also your responsibility to report any deviations that may occur during your shift regarding safety.
    • You must also ensure that your area of responsibility is healthy and safe and all requirements as per mine procedure are in place. 
    • During maintenance and cleaning operations, you must ensure that the lockout procedure is enforced and adhered to.
    • It is your responsibility to ensure that there is adequate illumination for the night shifts.
    • Always adhere to the requirements of the applicable safe operating procedures for your task/job description or any safe work instruction given to you by your Production Manager.
    • You will be required to work shifts and overtime at short notice when required. It may be required that you work on off weekends and public holidays when requested by the Production Manager. 
    • You are required to adhere to all Environmental Policies and Procedures.
    • Create and maintain a safe working area for the machines and employees in your area of responsibilities.
    • Control pit floor condition, load & haul, haul road construction and maintenance, stockpiles and dump sites on a daily basis.
    • Manage Production –teams (All Operators, etc.)
    • Comply with all legal and charter requirements for you Production team including the condition of service cards and the pre-shift checks of the designated plant.
    • Report immediately any abuse of machine or damage and poor pit, haul road and dumpsite conditions.
    • Coordinate the use of pre shift checklists for L.D.V. or plant and their use on a daily basis.
    • Control access in and out of work area.
    • Control and monitor the quality of jobs done to prevent rework, injury, accidents or damage.
    • Removal of sharp rocks from pit floor or dump site to always prevent tyre cuts
    • Conduct a safe declaration and risk assessment before any work comment (on the main loading areas and haul roads)
    • Control the spot times, from the moment that the horn of the loading tool sounds, until the first load starts falling into the bin of the next truck, to 40 seconds.
    • Maintain proper bench heights
    • Achieve hourly production rates
    • Construct proper access to loading area

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12;
    • Valid Pit License 
    • Competent “A” certificate
    • Blasting certificate will be (advantageous)
    • Mining engineering degree/diploma or surface mining will be (advantageous)

    Job specific experience:

    • Minimum of 4 years mining experience in an open pit mining environment. 
    • Must be able to adapt and work effectively in a multi-disciple environment.

    Wheel Dozer Operator

    Role Context

    • Ensure that the shift production is achieved
    • Any damages are reported and attend to urgently
    • Reach daily production targets
    • Executive daily approved plan
    • Do risk assessment before the commencement of the job
    • Use survey notes or instruction for any planned construction work
    • Doze according to the planned line-up
    • Fill in a checklist and report any fault to engineering
    • Assist load & haul supervisors to execute their work safely and cost-effectively
    • Create and maintain good and healthy relationship with other employees and all managers
    • Adhere to all company rules and regulations and MHSA

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 (NQF4)
    • Valid Code 10 drivers license
    • Must pass dover test

    Job specific experience:

    • 1-year mining experience in open cast mining will be an advantage
    • Must be able to work shifts and also on all holidays

    Rigid Dump Truck Operator

    Role Context

    • Reports to the Load and Haul Supervisor
    • Responsible to fill and follow the pre – use Checklist.
    • Take full care of the truck in terms of its cleanliness and tyre protection.
    • Responsible for filling diesel
    • Do the break test ramp at the start of shift or any time when the truck comes from the workshop.
    • Reporting of faults to engineering and shift control.
    • Follow the Standard Operating Procedures as per MHSA guidelines.
    • Achieve the daily planned target of loads transported.
    • Report hourly tons/BCM hauled to Shift Controller
    • Look after the tyres by driving carefully and not driving on top of rocks on the haul road, tipping and loading areas. If such areas are experienced, the operator must call the Supervisor and the Controller to remove or fix such areas before hauling can continue. 
    • Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedure at all times.
    • Adhere to all company rules and regulations and MHSA.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12/ NQF Level 4

    Job specific experience:

    • Must pass both medical and dover tests
    • Must be able to work shifts and also on all holidays
    • 3 plus years mining experience in open cast mining .
    • Rigid Dump Truck Operator experience
    • Competent in relevant unit standards
    • Valid driving license code 08/14
    • Should have excellent communication in English both verbally and written

    Senior Learning & Development Manager (HOA)

    Role Context

    • Define and drive the Group L&D strategy aligned to the overall Group business strategy.
    • Create and implement a platform for compliance, legal, technical, leadership, and functional training across all business units.
    • Lead the design and implementation of world-class development programs across mining, construction, manufacturing, and services sectors.
    • Ensure developmental training programs meet high standards and are approved through fair, transparent governance processes.
    • Manage and develop the Group L&D team across multiple sites and functions
    • Integrate L&D initiatives with broader Talent Management, Career Development, Performance Management, Succession Planning, and Employee Retention strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with all HR, Employment Equity, Skills Development, and Mining Health & Safety legislation.
    • Build and sustain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders (executives, managers, SETAs, auditors, regulators, contractors, and community representatives).
    • Oversee group-wide L&D budgets, ensuring financial discipline, cost-effectiveness, and value creation.
    • Maintain accreditation status, ensure quality assurance of training, moderation, and assessment processes.
    • Develop and maintain accurate records, statistics, and reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
    • Identify and implement new Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital learning platforms, and innovative learning technologies.
    • Support SLP (Social and Labour Plan) targets through skills development and community training programs.
    • Ensure continual alignment with safety standards under the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996.
    • Implement process improvements and efficiency projects across the L&D function.
    • Act as a key advisor to the Senior HR Manager and Executive Leadership on all matters related to Learning & Development and Organisational Development (OD).

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Minimum - Honors Degree Industrial Psychology, or Education, Human resources Management.
    • Master’s degree (advantageous) in: Business Leadership (MBL) / MBA (with Talent/L&D focus).
    • Coaching or Leadership Development accreditation.
    • Assessor and Moderator Accreditation (registered with ETDP SETA if in South Africa).
    • Registered Skills Development Facilitator (SDF).
    • Certifications in Digital Learning or Instructional Design (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; LMS platforms advantageous).
    • MS Dynamics 365 exposure/experience.

    Job Specific Experience

    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Human Resources Development across mining, construction, manufacturing, and/or services industries.
    • Minimum 5 years in a senior management or leadership role within L&D.
    • Deep knowledge of South African Labour Law, Skills Development Legislation, and Health and Safety legislation.

    Track Dozer Operator

    Role Context

    Health and Safety

    • Conduct a prestart safety checklist by inspecting the Track Dozer, identifying any risks and concerns, and escalating them to the control room and Foreman ensuring all safety requirements are met before the Track Dozer is put into operation for the day
    • Conduct continuous risk assessments throughout the day by proactively identifying and reporting identified risks within the areas of operation and collaborating with the various departments to support and maintain a safe working environment
    • Maintain and manage one’s own health and safety across the area of operations by adhering to all health and safety protocols and procedures to minimise any incidents within the working environment
    • Promote a culture of zero harm and emphasize compliance to TM policies, values and ethics to cultivate a workplace culture focused on safety and adherence to company policy values and ethics standards

    Equipment Operations

    • Conduct a prestart safety checklist by inspecting the Track Dozer, identifying any risks and concerns, and escalating them to the control room and Foreman ensuring all safety requirements are met before the Track Dozer is put into operation for the day
    • Manage the loading of the Track Dozer by understanding the loading capacity of the shovel ensuring the weight on the machine is appropriately balanced and the integrity of the machine is not compromised during operations
    • Manoeuvre and operate the Track Dozer into, around and across various sites, including confined and elevated spaces by analysing the various inclines and environmental factorsto position the Track Dozer for optimal functionality, minimising unnecessary risk and managing the optimal excavation for transportation.
    • Work according to the daily and weekly plan by engaging with the foreman to understand the intended targets and notifying them of any potential delays (due to breakdowns or any other causes) to enable continuous monitoring of target achievements.
    • Conduct daily housekeeping across the Track Dozer that this role has worked with by cleaning the cabin, conducting an end of shift inspection on the Track Dozer, and ensuring any required maintenance or cleaning is scheduled accordingly to keep the Track Dozer in peak operational condition.
    • Manage the operation of the Track Dozer by monitoring and controlling the area of operation in and around the Track Dozer ensuring a safe working environment is maintained, reporting any deviations from TM’s health and safety standards
    • Complete all movement logs for the Track Dozer by recording all movements and loads managed throughout the respective shift to ensure accurate reporting against established targets
    • Monitor all gauges and indicators during the operation of the TRACK DOZER, focusing on any potential warnings that the Track Dozer produces and ensure that the Track Dozer can be operated safely and in line with the required parameters of the machine

    Daily Planning

    • Work in line with the established timelines and pressures by adhering to the daily and weekly operational plans as well as prioritising ad hoc daily requests for movements of loads outside of the allocated ‘block/s’.
    • Work according to the daily and weekly plan by engaging with the supervisor to understand the intended targets and notifying them of any potential delays (due to breakdowns or any other causes) to enable continuous monitoring of target achievements

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Matric/Grade 12 (NQF4)
    • Relevant license of operation for the Track Dozer Operator
    • Any other relevant certifications
    • Must pass both medical and dover tests

    Job specific experience:

    • Minimum of 0-1 year of experience having worked in a similar type of role, in the mining or heavy industry environment, using the same or similar type of equipment
    • Code 10 Driver's License
