    Fleet Controller - Local Sales

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Allocation of vehicles and drivers to the routes.
    • Communicate and train drivers on SOP's and ensuring that drivers acknowledge and attend SOP trainings.
    • To ensure that all faults and breakdowns on trucks are reported timeously to the relevant stakeholders.
    • Accurately capture driver information, vehicle information and trip details on SparrowDesk.
    • Analyse customer deliveries data to improve delivery plans and effectively manage the loading of vehicles.
    • Supervise vehicle inspections by the drivers, and ensure drivers complete their pre and post trip inspections accordingly.
    • Communicate all vehicle delays to the relevant stakeholders (both internal and external).
    • Liase with the Sales department with regards to the delays and issues encountered during deliveries at customers.
    • Report to immediate manager all incidents relating to vehicle delays on route and keep constant communication with the drivers to resolve obstacles encountered while on route.
    • Ensure that ALL planned deliveries are executed, and returns are collected as per the SOP.
    • Minimise stock loses derived from damages, inaccurate delivering of stock by the driver, misplacing of invoices etc.
    • Manage overtime and leave according to company's policies and requirements.
    • Ensure Health and safety procedures are understood and maintained an ensure that all incidents are reported, logged on Quicklog and the appropriate corrective action are being implemented.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Matric or equivalent is compulsory.
    • Candidate Must have SP2 with NOM.
    • Candidate must have at least 3-4 years previous supervisory experience, preferably in a logistics and transportation environment.
    • Candidate must have extensive knowledge about Microsoft packages, C-Track, Sparrow and other logistics programmes.
    • Analytical thinker with mathematical abilities.
    • Excellent organisation skills required to manage tight deadlines.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and coordinate with other departments within the organisation.
    • Code 8/10 driving license with PrDP is essential.
    • Logistics/Transport qualification will be advantageous.

    Fleet Controller - Milk Collection

    Key Performance Areas:

    Daily delivery/collection Schedule Adherence

    • Ensure that drivers report for duty at their scheduled times to avoid late departures and drivers clocking in early to accumulate overtime.
    • Direct staff management of about +-50 employees.
    • Ensure that SOPs’, company policies and instructions are adhered to.
    • Escalate ALL the delays to the Transport Manager and Sales department.

    Vehicle Inspection (Pre, on route and Post trip)

    • Ensure that drivers do pre and post trip inspections and are signed off by the controller on duty.
    • Ensure that the workshop is notified of any vehicle defects and are attended to timeously.
    • Must be able do inspections with the drivers on a daily basis.

    Monitoring of Vehicles

    • Ensure continuous monitoring of vehicles on route via the tracking system.
    • Ensure consistent communication with drivers on route.
    • Ensure immediate communication with driver if there is any deviation on route or alerts on the tracking system.

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Matric (Umalusi) or equivalent is compulsory.
    • SP2 NOM is essential.
    • Must have at least 3 years previous supervisory experience, preferably in a logistics and transport environment.
    • Analytical thinker with mathematical abilities.
    • Excellent organisation skills required to manage tight deadlines.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Knowledge of C-Track tracking system and other Logistics programmes.
    • Knowledge of Sparrow
    • Ability to work independently and coordinate with other departments within the organisation.
    • Logistics/Transport qualification and Code 14 driving license with PrDP will be an added advantage.
