Job description

Purpose of the Job

• Technical support for Reliability Growth through investigations and data analysis.
• Identify new faults and system failures, root cause analysis, field investigation and reporting.
• Technical support for Troubleshooting in order to ensure maximum train availability

Responsibilities

• In charge to analyze and find the root cause of repetitive failures on Trains
• Analyze the history and the configuration of each Train through the failure data base
• Perform investigations and measurements on Trains
• Propose design improvements to solve issues
• Contribute to Reliability Growth and Return of Experience
• Guarantee information flow within the depot, the Reliability team and Project team
• Support any technical activity on complex issues according to the best practices.
• Formalize the investigation guideline to find failure root causes on Trains
• Support Troubleshooter team and Field Modification team
• Respect EHS rules and any work related processes

Performance Measurement

• Quality of failure diagnosis and relevant documentation
• Corrective solutions and without repetition
• High train availability
• Reliability improvement after modification implementation
• Technical competence and autonomy (duration of intervention)
• Compliance with EHS rules and work related processes
• Support and train the Troubleshooter team to complex failures

Candidate Requirements

Educational Requirements

• Industrial and/or Engineering degree or equivalent
• IT literate ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desired Knowledge / Experience

• At least 10 years of experience in Industrial (Mechanical and/or Electrical) Engineering and/or Electrical Equipment design
• Familiarity with the Railway system equipment and all relative industrial and manufacturing processes (Assembly and Testing)
• Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings
• Technical experience of writing and improving manufacturing and/or maintenance work instructions, line balancing, Lean Manufacturing.

Behavioural Skills / Competencies

• Able to reconcile and mitigate conflicting interests
• Able to forecast, organise and monitor events in order to meet Project targets
• Strong relationship/analysis skills
• Able to work as part of a team
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills
• Able to promptly identify potential risks that could endanger Project success
• Understand and accept different cultures

Language

• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• French knowledge would be a real advantage
