    Financial Statement Consultant

    Job Description

    • Outsourced CFO is recruiting for a meticulous Financial Statement Drafting Consultant to ensure valuable client service through the accurate and timely compilation, planning, and execution of IFRS, IFRS for SME, and consolidated financial statements.

    Key Responsibilities;

    Client service;

    • Compiling, planning and executing IFRS financial statements
    • Compiling, planning and executing IFRS for SME financial statements
    • Compiling, planning and executing Consolidated financial statements
    • Client Admin (Scoping, onboarding, non deliverable meeting etc);
    • Updating Zoho CRM with client details
    • Client Scoping according to scoping document
    • Preparing proposals on Practice Ignition
    • Documenting upsell or sale opportunities on Zoho CRM
    • Client onboarding process facilitation
    • Client off boarding process facilitation

    Accounting Consultant

    • As an Accounting Consultant, your role is to provide comprehensive client service and support while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. You will be responsible for processing various financial transactions, reviewing the work of trainees, and compiling accurate financial statements and management reports. Additionally, you will engage with clients, build relationships, and assist in scoping their needs. Your role also includes providing training to junior staff members. Contributing to client administration tasks, participating in planning and administrative activities, fostering a positive company culture, and staying updated with the latest industry trends.

    Job responsibilities will include, among others:

    Client Service

    • Process bank statements, supplier and customer bills, fixed assets, and other accounting tasks; review trainee work.    
    • Ensure SARS compliance: VAT reconciliations, provisional/income tax calculations and submissions; review trainee tax work.    
    • Compile management reports from monthly accounting records.    
    • Compile annual financial statements for clients.    
    • Prepare working papers for independent review engagements.    
    • Perform and review monthly accounting to ensure accurate balance sheets and income statements.    
    • Assist with payroll tasks: processing, reconciliations, EMP201/EMP501/COIDA/WCA submissions; review trainee work.    
    • Engage with clients, build relationships, scope needs, and prepare client budgets; assist junior staff.    
    • Provide secretarial services: annual returns, changes in year-end/directors, minutes and resolutions.

     Providing Training

    • Provide on-the-job training to Accounting Consultants, Junior Accounting staff, and Trainees; present training to the cloud accounting team.

     Client Admin

    • Update CRM with client details.    
    • Perform client scoping, prepare proposals, and assist with client onboarding/offboarding.    
    • Prepare agendas for monthly planning meetings with the Cloud Accounting Manager.    
    • Submit timesheets on time.    
    • Ensure timely projects rollout and sign-off.
    • Review budgeted vs. actual hours spent on clients.    
    • Attend and participate in company team events.    
    • Develop and maintain a positive company culture.

    Client Onboarding Specialist

    Job Description

    • Outsourced CFO is looking for a Client Onboarding Specialist who will focus on creating delighted client experiences during the onboarding phase while identifying areas that would need to be scoped to ensure a world class finance function is available to the client.

    Key Performance Areas:
    Delighted Client Onboarding

    • Approach client onboarding with a focus on delighting clients, and establishing an environment where clients can be efficiently serviced after transitioning to the production team.
    • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for clients, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
    • Collaborate closely with POD leaders to ensure clients are delighted with their onboarding journey.
    • Identify and address potential risk areas (relating to both annual and monthly deliverables), ensuring clients are in compliance and well-prepared for continued monthly work.
    • Establishes and reinforces trust the client has put in OCFO during the sales process, with the aim of having delighted, raving fan clients after the initial 3-month onboarding phase.
    • Continuously assess and adjust scoping requirements as necessary.
    • Oversee the accurate setup of client technology tools (Xero, Dext, SimplePay) for new clients, and regularly assess the adoption of basic tech stack within existing client base.
    • Ensure adherence to proper onboarding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for internal administration and CRM.
    • Conduct regular weekly client calls to maintain clear communication.
    • Effectively transition clients to the production team upon completion of onboarding.
    • Assist in obtaining Client NPS feedback on a weekly basis.
    • Ensure all new onboarding clients have gone through a properly reviewed quality control and compliance process by the end of the onboarding phase.
    • Ensure adoption of SOP's for clients transitioned to the production team on a regular basis.

    Special Projects

    • As part of scoping clients' needs, the execution plan for these ad hoc engagements should be initiated and execution thereof managed or directly executed in a profitable manner
    • Manage Xero Conversion projects with team
    • Identify, scope and deliver on client reporting needs.

    Business Development & Scoping

    • Collaborate with the sales team to scope new leads and existing client requirements.
    • Support POD leaders in identifying opportunities for upselling to existing clients.
    • Assist the sales team in converting leads into successful sales.
    • Ensure the scoping process is done thoroughly from the 1st conversation.

    Internal Process & Training

    • Train team members on updated methods and procedures related to client services.
    • Continuously identify areas where SOP's and ideal client profiles need to be adjusted for future efficiencies.
    • Implement new processes as needed to enhance the efficiency of the onboarding process.

    Requirements

    • The ideal candidate for this position is a CA(SA) with 2 years post article and project management experience.  Preference to candidates from accounting services background and based in Pretoria, Johannesburg or Cape Town.

    Bookkeeper

    Job Description

    • We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is in the SaaS industry.  
    • This role focuses on accurate record keeping, invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and maintaining up-to-date financial information across our group of companies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Client Invoicing & Billing

    • Prepare and issue client invoices (manual and recurring) and ensure they are sent timeously.
    • Send monthly client statements and follow up on outstanding debt
    • Address client billing queries together with the Client Manager and escalate unresolved matters to the Financial Manager
    • Raise credit notes and cancellation requests in the company’s billing system for approval by the Financial Manager
    • Notify clients of account suspension due to non-payment and inform the Financial Manager accordingly

    Debtors Management

    • Track overdue accounts and assist with debt collection follow-ups
    • Maintain accurate debtor records and ensure statements and invoices are kept up to date in Zoho Books
    • Assist in preparing weekly debtor status reports
    • Cash flow updates and management
    • Provide DSO and debtor management updates to management

    Payments & Creditors

    • Load supplier invoices and purchase orders into Zoho Books for approval
    • Review invoices for accuracy and ensure they are properly coded to the correct accounts
    • Prepare weekly and monthly payment batches and ensure supporting documentation is complete
    • Manage the payment approval process

    Bank & Reconciliation

    • Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain accurate supporting documentation
    • Assist with reconciliations of control accounts and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded
    • Maintain and update the asset register

    Month-End & Compliance

    • Assist with VAT201 preparation and month-end reconciliations (debtors, creditors, payroll, etc.)
    • Ensure all financial documentation is organised and filed correctly
    • Support the Accountant with any additional month-end tasks and audit requirements
    • Support VAT, PAYE, SARS and other global statutory submissions

    Assets & Financial Treatments

    • Record and maintain fixed asset and intangible asset registers.
    • Apply appropriate depreciation and amortisation treatments for:
    • Hardware assets (servers, laptops, networking equipment).
    • Software licenses (capitalised or expensed as per accounting policy).
    • Resource costs (capitalisation of development or implementation hours when applicable and project management).
    • Perform periodic impairment and useful life reviews for intangible assets.
    • Assist in preparing audit documentation for asset verification.

    Requirements

    • Minimum 2-3 years’ bookkeeping experience
    • Diploma or certificate in bookkeeping or accounting
    • Working knowledge of Zoho Books (or similar system)
    • Knowledge of SaaS financial metrics and revenue processes is advantageous
    • Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and reconciliation processes.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Professional communication and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
