    Senior Site Agent - Civils

    • We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Agent – Civils to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution and coordination of large-scale civil infrastructure projects, including earthworks, roads, services and structural works. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the role provides strong site leadership, technical oversight and commercial input to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and in full compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Plan, manage and execute civil construction works in accordance with approved programmes, drawings and specifications.
    • Lead and coordinate site teams including Site Agents, General Foremen, Engineers and site personnel.
    • Develop and manage detailed construction programmes, including baseline, look-ahead and resource-loaded schedules. (CCS and/or MS Project)
    • Oversee multidisciplinary civil activities such as earthworks, layerworks, roads, stormwater, services and structural components.
    • Ensure compliance with construction legislation, OHSA, environmental requirements and contract conditions.
    • Manage labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to achieve productivity, cost and quality targets.
    • Implement and monitor QA/QC systems, inspections, ITPs, snagging and close-out processes.
    • Monitor site costs, production outputs and progress, supporting accurate reporting and forecasting.
    • Manage subcontractor performance, including SMME integration and labour-intensive construction requirements.
    • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and community stakeholder
    • Support tendering and work acquisition through constructability input, site intelligence and lessons learned.
    • Lead people management, mentoring, performance management and succession development on site.
    • Proactively manage risks, incidents and crisis situations to ensure continuity of operations.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education:

    • Professional registration as a Construction Manager with a recognised professional body (e.g. SACPCMP), or progress towards registration.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in project planning on large civil or multidisciplinary engineering projects.
    • 5–8 years’ experience as a Site Agent or Direct Site Manager on civil infrastructure projects.
    • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary civil works, including earthworks, roads, services and structures.
    • Strong background in site execution, subcontractor management and contractual compliance.

    Added Advantages:

    • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
    • Experience working under GCC, NEC, FIDIC or JBCC
    • Sound knowledge of COLTO, COTO, SANRAL and SANS
    • Experience with digital construction tools such as MS Project, GPS, Total Station and mobile QA/QC platforms.
    • Exposure to labour-intensive public-sector projects and SMME development initiatives.
    • Demonstrated readiness to progress into a Contracts Manager

    Senior Project Planner

    • We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing and controlling integrated project schedules across complex civil and multidisciplinary construction projects. The role provides strategic planning, forecasting and risk analysis support to Senior Project Managers and management teams, ensuring alignment between scope, cost and time objectives.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain integrated project and programme schedules across all project phases.
    • Establish baseline programmes and monitor progress against contractual milestones.
    • Analyse schedule performance, critical path, trends and variances and recommend corrective actions.
    • Integrate cost, resource and progress data into project schedules, including earned value analysis.
    • Identify schedule risks, conduct delay and impact analysis and support change and claims assessments.
    • Coordinate planning inputs from engineering, procurement, construction and commercial teams.
    • Produce weekly and monthly progress reports, forecasts and executive dashboards.
    • Conduct site visits to validate physical progress and enforce programme compliance.
    • Oversee the accuracy, accessibility, security and storage of survey data.
    • Support compliance with contractual requirements relating to time, delays and extensions of time.
    • Mentor junior planners and promote standardised planning practices and continuous improvement.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Education: National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management.
    • Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience in project planning on large civil or multidisciplinary engineering projects.
    • Advanced experience in developing, maintaining and analysing integrated project programmes.
    • Proven ability to link cost, resource and risk data to project schedules.

    Added Advantages:

    • Postgraduate qualification in Project Planning, Construction Management or Business Administration.
    • Professional registration or membership with PMSA, SACPCMP or ECSA.
    • Experience on major infrastructure, renewable energy or heavy civil projects.
    • Proven experience mentoring planners or implementing planning standards across multiple projects.
    • Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project or equivalent.
    • Proficiency in Business intelligence (BI) and data visualization software or equivalent.

    Paver Supervisor/Foreman

    • We are seeking an experienced Paver Supervisor/Foreman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating paving activities, ensuring that daily production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and in accordance with quality and project requirements. Reporting to the Foreman / Site Agent, the role provides hands-on leadership, coordination of teams and support to site operations to ensure smooth execution of paving works. 

    Main Responsibilities: 

    • Supervise and coordinate asphalt paving crews, including operation of pavers, rollers and associated plant, ensuring correct placement, levels, thickness and compaction of asphalt layers. 
    • Follow daily work plans and communicate clear instructions to teams to ensure efficient task execution. 
    • Prepare work areas by ensuring correct materials, tools, plant and safety measures are in place before work begins. 
    • Monitor daily production outputs, identify delays or constraints and report to the Foreman. 
    • Guide teams on correct work methods, sequencing and paving standards. 
    • Ensure proper use, care and maintenance of tools, equipment and small plant. 
    • Coordinate labour, plant and materials to maintain productivity and minimise downtime. 
    • Monitor material usage and report shortages, damages or wastage. 
    • Monitor asphalt temperature during delivery, laying and compaction to ensure quality standards are achieved. 
    • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with required levels, tolerances and quality standards. 
    • Identify and report defects, non-conformances or rework requirements. 
    • Maintain basic daily records of production, labour, materials and site progress. 
    • Provide regular feedback to the Foreman on progress, risks and site conditions. 
    • Control asphalt paving operations, including coordination of paver, rollers and tipper trucks. 

    Minimum Requirements: 

    Education:  

    • ABET Level 4 / Grade 9 or equivalent.  
    • Supervisory training (NQF Level 3 or 4) will be advantageous. 

    Experience:  

    • Minimum 2–4 years’ experience as a Supervisor in a construction or roadworks environment.  
    • Experience supervising multiple teams and coordinating daily site activities. 
    • Practical experience in paving and asphalt works.
