    ICT Teacher (Junior High and IGCSE)

     

    Description

    Valenture is an exciting new start-up in the online education space. Our mission is to evolve what it means to “go” to school by transforming physical limitations into digital opportunities. We do this by providing students worldwide with a fully supported, global online high school experience, steeped in academic excellence and rooted in sustainable practices. We believe in providing more than just a quality online education – we’re dedicated to building and empowering a purpose-driven, global student body and equipping them to make the best of both their individual and collective futures.

    The role

    • Facilitating the live online teaching of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to Junior High and IGCSE classes and associated tasks.
    • Motivating students to do their best.
    • Monitoring, remediating and enabling student academic progress
    • Grading student submissions.
    • Liaising with student mentors.
    • Coordinating and running student discussion forums pertaining to the classes.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree as well as a PGCE, BEd or other accepted teaching qualification (SACE number).
    • Experience teaching the UK curriculum will be an advantage.
    • Work to and meet deadlines.
    • Competent at admin tasks associated with the position.
    • Comfortable and experienced with using technology.
    • Ability to work in an agile environment where innovation, change and adaptation are part of the everyday.

    Personal Skills & Attributes

    • Excellent rapport with students, being able to engage meaningfully with them and elicit the best from them.
    • In-depth knowledge and passion for your subject.
    • Good organisational and time management skills.
    • Good team player. Adept at working in different teams and collaborating with subject colleagues as well as across divisions.
