    Administrator: SCM (Piketberg

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12;
    • Relevant Three (3) year tertiary qualification, preferably in SCM/Procurement

    Experience:

    • Two (2) – Five (5) years’ relevant experience

    Requirements:

    • Computer literacy (MS Office Applications)
    • Proficiency in at least two (2) of the official languages of the Western Capen(Afrikaans/English/isiXhosa - Speak, Read, Write) 
    • Good human relations, interpersonal and communication skills 
    • Ability to give attention to detail
    • High level of responsibility

    Principal Clerk: Debtors Enquiries (Velddrif)

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 with Accounting as subject;

    Experience:

    • Two (2) – Five (5) years’ relevant experience

    Requirements:

    • Code B drivers licence 
    • Computer literacy (MS Office Applications) 
    • Proficiency in at least two (2) of the official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans/English/isiXhosa - Speak, Read, Write) 
    • Good supervision, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills 
    • Ability to give attention to detail

    • Must work overtime when required 
    • Incumbent must be physical fit

    Job purpose:

    • Performs specific administrative and accounting procedures against laid down procedural instructions/ guidelines ∙
    • Handling all debtors enquiries regarding their service accounts ∙
    • Completion of forms for consumers ∙
    • Issuing of duplicate statements ∙
    • Perform relief cashier duties when required.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Help consumers to complete connection and disconnection forms correctly ∙
    • Help consumers to correctly complete debtor related forms like for example applications for new water/electricity connection, change of meters from conventional electricity to prepaid , rebates, change of postal address ∙
    • Attend to the issuing of duplicate accounts for consumers ∙
    • Deal with enquiries related to debtor accounts ∙
    • Receive and receipt payments ∙
    • Attend to the issuing and updating of journals ∙
    • Responsible to part take in the Municipality’s Performance
    • Management and Development System.

    External Study Bursary Opportunities 2025/2026

    • Bergrivier Municipality is committed tskills development opportunities for the broader community of the Bergrivier municipal area. The municipality offers South African citizens, whare permanently resident in the Bergrivier municipal area, the opportunity tobtain qualifications at tertiary institutions and the Council provided for funds in the 2025/2026 Budget for making bursaries available.

    CRITERIA FOR SELECTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

    • Reside in the Bergrivier Municipal area;
    • Are between the age of 18 and 35 (preference given but other ages not excluded)
    • Are South African citizens with a valid South African ID number;
    • Comply with the entry requirements set by the institution of their choice and have proof of registration or acceptance tsaid institution; and
    • Students with parents or legal guardians earning a combined monthly income of less than the GAP housing threshold will receive preference.
    • Bursaries will only be awarded tstudents studying at accredited South African academic institutions subject tthe availability of funds.
    • Bursary assistance will only be awarded for applicants whare studying towards the achievement of their first degree or national diploma.

    STUDY FEES:

    • Bursaries may only be used tcover study fees.
    • Study fees could include the following:
    • Registration Fees
    • Class Fees
    • Examination Fees
    • Books and study material
    • Accommodation Fees
    • Bursaries will be paid directly tthe relevant academic institution.

    THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION MUST ACCOMPANY YOUR APPLICATION:

    • Prescribed bursary application form available on the municipal website (www.bergmun.org.za) or at the Human Resource Services Department Piketberg or at Bergrivier Municipal reception office of each town;
    • Student’s academic record, Grade 12 or latest tertiary results;
    • Certified copy of South African identity document;
    • Proof of permanent residential address (copy of municipal account);
    • Parent or Guardian’s Identity documents;
    • Proof of monthly household income (salary or pension slips if applicable, affidavit if unemployed);
    • Proof of university acceptance/registration and actual cost for fees for the year.
