    Specialist Core Application and Support - Midrand

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Do you have a vision for how technology can empower businesses and individuals alike? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! 
    • We are on the lookout for a dynamic and visionary Core Application and Support Specialist who will provide operational high-level support on Rel4, subscriber data management and systems.
    • In this role you will be part of a team that will shape the future of Vodacom’s technology landscape by providing input into product development and support of Core Applications Support Services. Ensuring that business continuity and capacity management and planning are in place for systems and applications in the CAS department. 
    • In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide input to solution architecture, strategy, and design and you will also have to conduct Optimization and Resilience activities and to give input to Core Voice and Data Teams (demand management, Config, etc) in terms of equipment, interfaces, licences, technology, etc.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Routine system preventative and corrective maintenance on Rel4, subscriber data management and signalling protocols and constantly look at ways of being proactive to issues that occur on system and application level.
    • Provide high level support to customer care regarding customer queries. Liaising with other operators, ASOC, Suppliers/Vendors, and other divisions within Vodacom daily.
    • Focus on system, application and database administration and optimisation. This includes all possible tasks required on supported systems. 
    • Monitor and manage Core Applications and Support Services availability of 99,98%. This includes proactive monitoring and detection of problems, improved means of ensuring resilience/redundancy and improved means of restoring service when interruptions to service are experienced.
    • Implement and maintain BCP, Disaster/Recovery processes and procedures.
    • Proactive involvement in projects related to architecture changes, upgrades and the implementation of new systems and services. This includes high involvement in design, testing, implementation and comprehensive monitoring once new systems and services are implemented.
    • Performing system security patching and Backup Administration, SOX Compliancy, and administration on supported systems.
    • Ensuring systems and applications are performing optimally. This includes collecting data, analysis and executing required actions.
    • Risk management, capacity management and planning on all applications under Core applications and support environment.
    • Research and investigation into latest technologies to optimise supported systems and services in CAS environment.
    • Follow ISO Quality Assurance Procedures. Maintain technical library and documentation and compiling and distribution of job orders as per change management procedures.

    The Ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • 3-year Degree/National Diploma related to engineering field of study (minimum).
    • 3-5 years Telecommunications experience and in a support/operations environment.
    • 3-5 years advanced experience on Java based applications and UNIX related systems and applications.
    • Advanced Experience in UNIX, UNIX ADMIN, and TCP/IP.
    • Advanced Experience in Database admin on MySQL

    Specialist: Actuarial - Midrand

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    To provide actuarial support to the Senior Specialists: Actuarial and Head of Actuarial on all matters relating to financial reporting, valuation, product pricing and capital management 

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Product Development & Pricing

    • The candidate will assist with developing and maintaining the actuarial pricing models and product development of life and non-life products in a competitive, profitable and sustainable manner, working closely with Vodacom’s chosen partners. Regular competitor analysis is required to ensure products remain competitive.  The candidate will also assist with product management, including ensuring that policy documents, marketing material, training guides and sales scripts are true to the original product design and specifications.

    Experience Investigations

    • Detailed data analysis will be performed to provide business intelligence in order to enhance decision making as well as to serve as input into valuation assumption setting. 

    Data Analysis and reporting 

    • Maintaining the data lake for leads data and actuarial data, monthly and daily reporting on key performance indicators.

    Financial Reporting 

    • Monthly and annual liability valuations are required across the life and non-life portfolios, including typical IBNR and DCF techniques for the valuation of actuarial liabilities.  The candidate will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of all valuation models; Value of New Business calculation and reporting; and for producing cash flow projections for budgeting purposes.

    Specialist: Transmission - Midrand

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    To plan and implement Transmission infrastructure and support service assurance and quality of the Transmission network

    • Provide transmission implementation support to the Counties

    Group Loyalty Program Engagement Lead - Midrand

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    Loyalty Program Engagement Lead will provide directives to markets enabling monetisation of the Loyalty platform in line with organisational KPIs, whilst delivering increased value to the customer. The incumbent will ensure efficiencies and results-orientated coordination of all Loyalty initiatives, thereby yielding increased engagement, retention, and revenue stimulation with a deep focus on prioritised strategic Group and market objectives. 

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Drive the adoption and monetisaton of the Vodacom Group Loyalty platform
    • Ensure deep integration of Loyalty, CVM & Big Data across all Opcos to support personalised customer experiences on engagement, value-based core product offers and rewards presentation, whilst managing dilution;
    • Prioritise key focus areas and leverage the Loyalty platform to drive strategic objectives across the Opcos; revenue, retention, engagement, new channel adoption & multi-product uptake and market share;
    • Develop and ensure adoption by the Opcos of a governance framework (modelling, rules and logic) for ongoing operational programme management (rewards allocation, budget management, VodaBucks liability etc.);
    • Design pricing framework for personalised value-based core product offering where VodaBucks (loyalty points) are used as a currency.
    • Experiment with multiple approaches to solve for any challenges, and to ensure ongoing programme improvement; and
    • Partner as a consulting member of campaign delivery teams, including but not limited to annual Summer campaigns

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • BSc. in Engineering/Computer Science/Economics and/or MBA
    • +8 years’ experience in CVM within the Telecommunications and/or Banking sectors
    • Experiance with Applied Predictive Technologies (APT), SQL, and/or Business Intelligence 
    • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint

    Executive Head: Vodacom Financial Services IT Payments - Midrand

    Role purpose:

    The role of the Executive Head: VFS IT Payments - to build, operate and maintain Vodacom Financial Services’ merchant payments (Acquiring) capability and provide leadership to the respective technical engineering team and third parties.
