    Temp Internship (PPL)

    Purpose of the Positions

    The successful intern will be expected to enter into a 12-month fixed-term contract commencing on the 1st of March 2024 and terminating on the 28 February 2025.
    The intention is to give practical work experience to students who are currently studying towards a Logistics Management formal qualification.

    Key Learning Areas include (but are not limited to):

    • Preparing and completing warehouse orders for production according to production plan Receiving and processing incoming stock
    • Executing inventory controls and keeping high quality standards
    • Add value in increasing departmental efficiencies and customer satisfaction
    • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations Participate in stock counts
    • Accurate identification, verification of records and inbound shipments. Inter plant transfer of materials

    To qualify for selection and participation in this programme, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

    • Excellent academic record and in final year of obtaining tertiary qualification - Logistics Management Degree / Diploma 
    • No work experience in the field is required
    • Computer literacy – Microsoft Suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Sound communication and presentation skills; 
    • Effective time management;
    • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure. 
    • Ability to work in a team
    • South African citizen;

    Prospective interns must submit the following

    Temp internship (QC)

    Purpose of the Positions

    Successful interns will be expected to enter into a full-time 12 month fixed-term contract commencing on the 1st of March 2024 and terminating on the 28 February 2025.
    The intention is to give practical work experience to students who have successfully completed a tertiary qualification (National Diploma or Degree in Food Technology/Analytical Chemistry, BSc Bio Technology or Microbiology 

    Key Learning Areas include, but are not limited to:

    • Quality Control and Assurance (intrinsic & extrinsic control, Quality Management Systems; etc)
    • Research
    • Production 

    To qualify for selection and participation in this programme, candidates must satisfy the following Criteria;

    Purpose of the Positions

    The successful intern will be expected to enter into a 12 month fixed -term contract commencing on the 1st of March 2024 and terminating on the 28 February 2025.
    The intention is to give practical work experience to students who are currently studying towards a formal Chemical or Process Engineering qualification.

    Key Learning Areas include (but are not limited to):

    • Process Optimisation – improve time and throughout 
    • Loss control – measure and reduce product loss 
    • Problem solving – Use A1, A2 system to solve problems 
    • Verifying and improving work instruction – Handling SOP’s
    • Product transfers/blending – producing and processing products
    • Quality control – ensuring product meets specification 
    • Sampling and analysis ensuring correct standards are adhered to
    • Savings projects – implementing cost reductions 
    • Reporting – capturing readings and analysis 
    • Planning – meeting weekly production requisition 
    • Production – exposure to different products and work areas

    Ops Controller

    Purpose of the Positions

    The purpose of the role is to ensure effective management of all activities in the Distribution Centre Warehouse relating to Customer Deliveries and the completion of all reasonable tasks to ensure operational efficiency.  The role also assists and supports Heineken Beverages’ endeavor to become more responsive to our competitors, customers, and consumers (CCC). 

    Key responsibilities:

    • Operating efficiently: Ensure cost effective warehousing and distribution of company products.
    • Ensure the effective functioning of the following departments: Optimal Transport Management, Customer Deliveries, and Outsource Services.
    • Ensure systems and procedures operate effectively.
    • Ensure effective and outstanding delivery service.
    • Ensure the cost-effective maintenance of company vehicles, material handling equipment and site.
    • Ensure effective co-operation and communication with the local sales department.
    • Ensure stock availability and quality.
    • Maintain a high level of customer service.
    • Ensure Customers receive deliveries within agreed service levels.
    • Ensure strict adherence to Corporate Governance
    • Evaluate and maintain loss control procedures on an on-going basis.
    • Audit adherence: understanding, implementation, and adherence to Internal Control Measures such as ICC’s, ISO requirements, and Operational excellence. 
    • Perform administration/reporting effectively.
    • Regular team meetings conducted to understand performance, ensure achievement of short- and long-term objectives.
    • Performance and management reporting - Ensure that all statistical reports are compiled and analysed to monitor costs and efficiencies.

    Qualification and skills required:

    • A relevant Diploma or Advance National Certificate in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
    • Up To 1-2 years’ relevant experience in FMCG Logistics / Distribution Environment
    • Proficient in MS Office.
    • SAP, Strato, Qlikview, Success Factors experience will be advantageous. 
    • Experience in a customer service environment is essential.
    • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and sound presentation skills. 
    • The ability to work after hours and / or shifts if necessary.
    • Knowledge of all relevant legislation.
    • Knowledge of customer service principles and practice.
