    Local Division Controller

    • You will be working as Local Division Controller and will be the part of Electrification business area for Services division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to ELSE EMEA Finance Manager and you will have full P&L finance and controlling ownership for the ELSE (Electrification Service) Division in South Africa, with additional responsibility for Nigeria, Kenya and other planned expansion within Africa.

    Your responsibilities

    • Partnering directly with the local division manager to drive strategy and executing to deliver on profitable growth targets
    • Direct responsibility for the accuracy of all financial books, records and reports for the ELSE division in South Africa and driving compliance and integrity throughout the country in support of the LDM
    • Supporting the APP process for the division
    • Partnering with the ELSE local division manager for South Africa to operationalize financial targets and challenges
    • Direct ownership for developing and executing the financial forecasting process for the ELSE Division in South Africa supporting the LDM to prepare an accurate and timely forecast
    • Providing leadership for the analysts in country and Nigeria
    • Supporting ensuring a safe working environment, continuous HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) improvement processes, integrity performance and group standards
    • Leading by example to drive the right behaviors, personally living the ABB values of courage, care, curiosity, collaboration

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
    • Minimum 8 years of experience or alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated performance and results, in the areas of business, finance, operational controlling and/or accounting
    • Strong costing knowledge and understanding of service accounting and revenue recognition
    • Strong Microsoft Office/computer skills and expertise in APP reporting tools
    • Fluency in English language is mandatory

    Local Trade Compliance Officer

    • You will be working as Local Trade Compliance Officer and will be the part of Process Automation business area for BA Function Finance division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Country Trade Compliance Manager and you will be responsible for ensuring that all local businesses conduct their activities in line with ABB trade policies and guidelines, as well as to drive and coordinate the local implementation of ABB`s Global trade program, key focus is the oversight of compliance with all applicable customs, sanctions and exporting control regulations as well as providing training to the respective country organization

    Your responsibilities

    • Serving as single point of contact for local (national) trade compliance authorities and country management (respectively lead local business management) in handling trade compliance relating to ABB (deemed) exports, cross-border shipments, customers or vendors
    • Ensuring the creation and maintaining written trade compliance standards and procedures for all local businesses, ensuring transaction-based compliance with regulatory customs requirements (country-of-origin, classification, valuation and other)
    • Cooperating closely with staff in related domains to ensure seamless connection between overall trade compliance and day-to-day operations, including master data requirements, supplier qualifications etc, ensuring development, implementing and using of an efficient (communication) platform to drive trade compliance
    • Overseeing trade related archiving requirements and ensures that trade compliance records are kept and retrievable, as defined in the relevant instructions and regulations, jointly with IS and local business management, ensuring the effective use of ABB`s trade compliance management systems (i.e. SAP’s GTS), ensuring the efficient implementation of the automated screening solution
    • Developing and implementing a strategy for monitoring, managing and mitigating trade compliance related risks, notifying local business management, group trade compliance, trade management and in-house legal counsel of any suspected trade compliance violation, managing and administrating authorizations and permits
    • Supporting audits of ABB group trade compliance and relevant authorities and supervises follow-up actions, implementing a trade compliance training program to ensure basic knowledge and awareness across the entire local organization and raise specific expertise where needed, in line with the ABB Global Trade Program (incl. training framework)
    • Providing country management (respectively Lead Business management), CFM and group trade Management) periodic updates regarding the status of the local trade compliance program and on significant changes in applicable trade regulations
    • Communicating trade compliance updates and promoting general awareness of trade compliance in the local organization, maintaining local trade compliance page on ABB`s intranet (TC SharePoint) and country specific trade handbook (complementary to global Trade Handbook), organizing regular (at least quarterly) trade compliance interface (e.g. calls) for the trade compliance community in the country

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant filed
    • Strong SAP, Microsoft Office/computer skills
    • Fluency in English language is mandatory
