    Senior Accountant Budget, Planning and Reporting

    Description

    • Support the budget planning process
    • Draft CSOS’s budget in a format prescribed by National Treasury and divide into a capital and an operating budget
    • In drafting the budget, reflect of realistically, anticipated revenues by major revenue sources for the year concerned
    • Support the financial reporting process
    • In preparing financial reports, comply with relevant templates, in line with the legislative frameworks
    • Review the general ledger (Maintain accounting systems for the organisation)
    • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly financial management reports
    • Prepare annual financial statements
    • Prepare ENE report
    • Prepare quarterly reports on National Treasury template
    • Prepare annual financial statements on National Treasury template
    • Provide input and assist in the preparation of the organisation’s annual report
    • Submit financial management reports, budget performance reports, and any other information as may be prescribed from time to time. (i.e., monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.), to the National Treasury, and Auditor General.
    • Prepare for the AG audit process

    Requirements

    • National Diploma or Degree in a Finance-related field (NQF Level 7)
    • 3–5 years relevant experience in Finance
    • Good knowledge of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) and other financial and accounting principles
    • Understanding of relevant legislation, including PFMA and Treasury Regulations
    • Implementation of internal controls
    • Budgeting principles
    • Business & System processes
    • Ability to make an informed decision;
    • Ability to draft OLA’s, policies and procedures;
    • OLA management; and
    • Knowledge of Customer Services.

    Assistant Company Secretary

    Description

    • Manage the effective running of the activities of the Board in conjunction with the Board Chairperson.
    • Act as a primary point of contact and source of advice/guidance to board members regarding CSOS and its activities to assist in their decision-making process.
    • Keep under review all legal and regulatory developments affecting CSOS’s operations and make sure the Directors are properly informed of such developments.
    • Coordinate the publication and distribution of the company’s annual report and accounts and interim statements, in consultation with the company’s internal and external advisers, in particular, when preparing the directors’ report to ensure that reporting is done in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Manage the development and implementation of systems that ensure that CSOS complies with all applicable codes as well as its legal and statutory requirements.
    • Maintain statutory books including registers of members and directors to advise the shareholder accordingly on any changes.
    • Facilitate the proper induction and training of board members to assume their roles and responsibilities and execute their fiduciary duties in the best interests of CSOS as set out in the Companies Act and all other applicable Legislations.

    Requirements

    • BCom Law or LLB or Chartered Institute of Secretaries
    • Registration with the SA Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators will be an added advantage.
    • 7 – 8 years’ experience in Corporate Governance or Legal and Commercial Environment.
    • 5 years’ experience in the field of Committee Secretary.
    • 3 years experience in an Assistant Company Secretary role will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge:
    • Companies Act.
    • CSOS Act.
    • Governance Body of Knowledge (G-BOK).
    • King Code IV and applicable Legislations.

    •  Business Acumen
    • Analytical skills Judgement
