    Manufacturing Excellence Manager - Mossel Bay

    Position Summary

We are now looking for a Manufacturing Excellence Manager to be based in Mossel Bay Factory. 
    In this role you will be responsible to drive Factory towards World-Class Manufacturing through, Total Performance management, by leveraging advance manufacturing practices and key manufacturing initiatives to contribute to excellent end to end business results in a continuous and sustainable manner and ultimately the factory to become an efficient and profitable business partner.

    Supporting the factory leadership team forms a pinnacle part of this role.

    A day in the life of a Manufacturing Excellence Manager:

    • Ensures the right cascading of priorities and measures from the Market to the factory.
    • Ensure Data integrity for the factory, Bill of Materials, Physical Standards and Master Recipe.
    • Defines and embeds NCE projects and initiatives into the Factory objectives and align Factory Leadership Team towards the plan.
    • Establishes Factory governance to ensure that NCE implementation contributes to deliver business results.
    • Prioritize the improvement efforts based on loss analysis.
    • Promotes and supports cross-fertilization of Manufacturing best practices, knowledge, standards, and improvements across the factories.
    • Ensures an overall understanding of the different NCE methodologies (pillars) within the Factory Leadership Team, functions and how they integrate through the NCE implementation plan avoiding silo working.
    • Conducts specific projects to support results improvement around priorities established by the Factory.
    • Understands and ensures together with Factory Cost controller n overall competence of Costing Standards for Manufacturing.
    • Links with Market Excellence manager within a Market/Category to drive NCE in manufacturing.

    What will make you successful?

    • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Food Science or Business Management
    • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Intermediate to advance understating of SAP, BW reports.
    • Prior experience as IP analyst and Pillar coordinator.
    • DMAIC Certified, at least to White Belt level.
    • Experience within a network organization (internal and external providers).
    • Proficiency in English and language of the market (where applicable).
    • Experience as a data analyst.
    • Language Proficiency: English and Afrikaans will be an added advantage

    Application Group Manager - Mossel Bay

    Position Summary

    In this role you will be responsible to will support leading and developing a team of local category specialists to provide expertise and support to the factory within the framework given by the category technology application group center (CTAG) in line with local business priorities.

    • Support ideation & Consumer Insight work.

    A day in the life of an Application Group Manager:

    • Reviews and approves – with the Business – the renovation briefs for locally managed projects.
    • Contributes to gate decisions for "Go-to-Renovate", "Implement" and "Launch."
    • Leads and supports translation of consumer insight into product attributes and driving Manufacturing excellence.
    • Customize and localize recipe and packaging design, detail raw materials and packaging specifications.
    • Leads Renovation and customization projects (including renovation for cost improvement), identifies optimization opportunities in collaboration with the CTCU/CTAG.
    • Leads local Raw Material & Packaging Materials Harmonization.

    What will make you successful?

    • University degree or equivalent (e.g., Process Engineering, Food Engineering, Packaging Engineering)
    • 3 – 5 years production and process technology experience, technical education background Solid category experience in Operations and R&D
    • A solid food industry experience (Production Manager, End to End manager or similar).
    • I&R Experience, Product Development Specialist, Application Group Specialist in the category.
    • Project Management experience involving a range of projects of varying size and complexity (major projects /multiple projects).
    • Line management: proven capability of developing and leading people.
    • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams (with or without direct reports).

    Import/Export Specialist - Bryanston

    Position Summary

We are now looking for an Export Specialist to be based in Bryanston Head Office.

    In this role you will be responsible to ensure supply of exported goods and services from the ESAR market to our customers are compliant and on time by working with cross-functional teams and service providers. Ensuring Service Providers are paid on time and delivering the services as per the agreed contract. Ensuring the system and orders are managed in such a way to optimized and help reduce any Total Delivery Cost. (TDC)

    A day in the life of an Export Specialist:

    Ensure Systems Accuracy

    • Ensure system is updated and maintain to produce required documentation and reporting. Key Fields are maintained correctly, SLED (Shelf-Life Expectancy Date), MAD (Material Availability Date, RDD (Requested Delivery Date) and Conditions (Freight cost etc..).

    Order Management

    • Efficient execution and on time delivery of export orders Optimizing Containers or Vehicles before actioning order, in line with regulations.

    Drive Compliance through Cross functional alignment with Authorities & Importers

    • Ensure all documentations and procedures are aligned and compliant with international and local authorities.

    Be a Supply Chain ambassador for Nestlé Export Team

    • Produce and track Key Performance Measures through weekly and monthly operational reviews. SPOC for all export Projects (BCP - Business continuity Plan, NPD - New Product Development, Trials etc.)

    Manage Service Providers

    • Ensuring on time payment to Service Providers and any disputes are actioned. Manage Service Providers with regular reviews as per contract agreement & KPI's.

    What will make you successful?

    • Tertiary Degree or Diploma ( Ideally in Transport)
    •  3 - 5 years or more experience in:
    • Shipping Industry
    •  In Depth Knowledge of Exports into Southern African Countries and Indian
    • Ocean Islands.
    •  Computer Literacy in SAP & MS Office

    Temp Project Engineer - East London

    Position Summary

    In this role you will be responsible to Manage and / or perform the design, implementation and start-up phases of capital investment projects on the manufacturing site, within the defined scope of responsibility or specialization. Ensure that the objectives of the investment project charter, design specifications and Nestlé standards are implemented and adhered to.

    A day in the life of a Project Engineer:

    Before starting the project design phase:

    Support the End-to-End Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in developing the investment project charter and ensure that it is strictly followed throughout the project.

    During project design phase:

    Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations, the defined User Requirements Specifications and the TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability, and reliability). Ensure by design the workers, and operators, safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant.

    During the project implementation phase:

    Ensure that the engineering side of the project is implemented (e.g., buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation. And that all the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) in performed in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and that a vertical start-up is assured. Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that Nestlé standards are applied.

    During the start-up phase of the project:

     Support the start-up manager and their team to ensure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation.

    Contribute to and support the preparation and distributing the engineering project documentation, including the engineering part of the project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.

    What will make you successful?

    • Manufacturing projects management experience 
    • 3 years’ experience in capital investment projects development and implementation in food industry.
    • Determination of methods to minimize the likelihood of injuries or damages to people and/or equipment (SH&E)
    •  Factory operations (as required)

    Fitter - Cape Town

    Position Summary

We are now looking for a Fitter and Turner to be based in East London Factory. 

    In this role you will be responsible to installs and maintains engineering equipment in first class working condition. Ensure efficient safe operation of machinery by repairing and adjusting equipment within the allowable tolerances. All work carried out on premises must conform to legal, statutory, and internal standards if more stringent in all areas of engineering, quality, and safety, health & environment. Fault finding and attending to breakdowns. Complete the necessary administrative tasks for AMM, SHE, PMO`s. To be actively involved with new project installations and Total Performance Management (TPM). 

    A day in the life of a Fitter & Turner:

    • Carry out the planned maintenance required on plant.  
    • Incumbent must be pro-active to prevent breakdowns in respective departments. 
    • Initiative driven to continuously improve equipment performance and reliability of equipment’s. 
    • Install, service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment.  
    • Follow up and recommend actions to overcome and improve problems encountered.  
    • Attend to mechanical faults and breakdowns in all areas of the factory.  
    • Analyzing, investigating, and eliminating recurrent faults.  
    • Improve on functional maintenance, cleaning, and reliability of equipment.  
    • Manage minor projects and contractors. 
    • Plant knowledge and able to operate all industrial services equipment. 
    • Repairs must be carried out quickly (first time right) and efficiently.  
    • Maintain high standards of work.  
    • Ensure machine reliability and availability for production targets to be met.  
    • Undertakes to work shifts and overtime as per company requirements. 
    • Lockout & permit procedure to be always used when any person could be exposed to danger.  
    • Ensure any dangerous conditions must be made safe immediately.  
    • To correct errors on drawings and update drawings. 
    • Complete the necessary administrative tasks for AMM, SHE, PMO`s. 
    • Actively involved in projects and TPM. 
    • Interact and collaborate with production teams.  
    • Interact with suppliers and contractors. 

    What will make you successful? 

    • Matric and N3 Trade related qualification essential. 
    • Apprenticeship and qualified with a Trade Test Certificate as Fitter & Turner. 
    • Minimum of at least 2-3 years’ experience in mechanical field after passing Fitter & Turner trade test. 
    • Manufacturing and Industrial services background. 
    • Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint SAP, and AMM). 
    • Pneumatic and Hydraulic experience 
    • Welding Experience. 
    • Pipe fitting experience. 
    • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. 
    • In depth knowledge of maintenance practices. 
    • Preferably from East London and surrounding areas
