    Officer Safety

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Main Task and Responsibility:

    • Prevent and minimize accidents, dangerous occurrences and non-conformances in respect of safety and health standards.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 Certificate (Required).
    • Diploma: Safety Management (Required).
    • Certificate: Trade Test  (Required).
    • Certificate: OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (Required).
    • Certificate: COMSOC 1 or 2 (Advantageous).
    • Certificate: SAMTRAC Mining (Alternative).

    Experience and Requirements:

    • 5 Years Safety Officer Experience in engineering environment.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office).
    • Electronic Document Management System.
    • Information Management Systems – Oracle, JDE, SharePoint, Qlickview.
    • SHERQ Systems.
    • Resolve problems as they are encountered to ensure achievement against plan.
    • Support and participate in sub-functional change management to drive transformation and optimisation.
    • Drawing from own experience or vocational knowledge, identify and recommend initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improved productivity and reduce operating costs within scope.
    • Conduct legal inspections and report deviations.
    • Enforce adherence to Health and Safety standards in the work environment.
    • Assist in implementation and maintenance of the Health and Safety Management System; including Contractor Management System. Participate as an ex-officio member of the health and safety committee.
    • Attend Shaft and Mine Planning meetings.
    • Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members or using own vocational knowledge and experience.
    • Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes. Ensure operational plan is implemented.
    • Inspect designated work areas, record in log book and report to Management for corrective action. Investigate all accidents, dangerous occurrences and non-conformances, recommend actions and report to the Chief Safety Officer.
    • Complete and submit the Rand Mutual and SAMRASS forms timeously to ensure compliance.
    • Assist in conducting SHERQ risk assessments and provide input to corrective and preventive actions and follow-ups.
    • Monitor risks and take control over affected business operations in order to minimise negative impact and immediately report to Management.
    • Assist to interpret safety and health data, identify hotspots/ trends. Conduct root cause analysis.
    • Facilitate appropriate action to reduce health and safety risks.

    Superintendent Logistics Load Out And Dispatch

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    MAIN TASK AND RESPONSIBILITY

    Manage the movement of transport of ore from BRMO to harbour and to inland clients to achieve dispatch targets and to ensure that customer ore product requirements are met.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12
    • Bachelor’s Degree: Logistics or Transport Management ( Required)
    • Management  Development Programme (Required) 
    • Valid drivers’ licence

    EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

    • 8 Years experience in mining load out or dispatching / logistics operations
    • Including 5 years Supervisory experience  (included in 8 Years) 

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Computer literate ( Microsoft package) 
    • System Skills ( TLD ,JDE, Oracle, Qlikview, ISOmetrix)
    • Ore quality management
    • Logistics management
    • Manage the execution of the load out plan for rail and road to meet customer requirements. Analyse process and performance trends against targets.
    • Ensure optimum utilisation of the train allocation in order to prevent penalties and to maintain the allocation.
    • Ensure optimum utilisation of the road transport schedule to prevent penalties.
    • Planning and scheduling of logistics resources (Trains and Road Trucks) to achieve the BRMO Game Plan. Ensure on-time arrival of trains at ports in order to avoid demurrage penalties as prescribed berthing requirement
    • Continuous and ongoing communication with all role-players, with emphasis on TFR to ensure an integrated logistics supply chain meeting targets.
    • Interpret and act on the following reports / data received from Rail LOS and Road Loadout
    • Control and assess Quality Management to ensure adherence to customer order requirements. 
      Interpret the approved logistics execution plans. Determine how logistics resources and processes must be utilised / applied to achieve the scheduling and execution objectives. Plan the office staff accordingly to meet business plan (rail and road plans).
    • Resolve problems as they are encountered to ensure achievement against plan.
      Ensure executional plan is implemented with specific reference to road transport spillage and clean-up to ensure on-time delivery

    Manager Information Technology

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Certificate: Grade 12
    • Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology (Required) / Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (Alternative)
    • Diploma In Information Technology / Information Management (Required)   

    EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

    • 7 - 8 Years’ experience in Information Management and Information Technology  processes in a mining / technical environment
    • 3 Years Management Experience

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Computer literate (Microsoft Package)
    • Expert knowledge of Office 365 and other cloud off the shelf services.
    • System Skills: Electronic Document Management System, Enterprise Resource Planning, Human Resource Information Management Systems, Information Management Systems, Learning Management Systems & SHERQ Systems.
    • Cloud support or migration to cloud experience.
    • Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members. Recognise and reward team member efforts.
    • Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes.
    • Plan, direct and assess Quality Management within sub-function and recommend remedial actions where necessary to ensure adherence to TQM principles.
    • Provide input into functional planning. Interpret functional plan and develop sub-functional plans.
    • Ensure operational plan is implemented.
    • Manage the efficient and effective utilisation of resources. Optimise systems and processes continuously to ensure production efficiency targets and operational plans are met.
    • Optimise the core operational internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve operational conflicts.
    • Manage the planning, installation and maintenance decision-making and expansion of network infrastructure.
    • Develop, maintain and simulate/ test the disaster recovery plan for the business system environment.
    • Continuously enhance and update current systems in the IT environment and introduce new technological developments by keeping abreast to changes within the Information technology discipline.
    • Develop, implement and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure physical and logical access control, data security and data integrity.
    • Contribute to annual functional budget planning by providing input into operational, capex and labour budgets for sub-function. Submit to line management for approval.
    • Implement and effectively manage the approved budget (operational, capex and labour) for the sub-function. Report variances as required and implement remedial action within span of control to minimise variances.
