Open Roles at Western Cape Blood Service

Main Purpose:

To manage the operations of the Blood Bank by maintaining and implementing policies and procedures as well as advise on technical issues relating to patients.

To manage staff at optimum levels with the available resources in order to provide an efficient service. Perform analysis of sales and expenses as well as assessing information for trends so as to contain operating costs.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric Certificate
• Drivers licence
• Reliable vehicle
• National Diploma in Biomedical Technology/ BTech in Biomedical Technology
• Registration with HPCSA in Blood Transfusion or Immunohaematology
• Minumum of 3 years post qualification
• 1 – 2 years of supervisory experience
• Computer literate

• Have a friendly disposition and show a keen interest in the work.

Main Purpose:

• Processing of incoming blood into the various products; and performing general duties to ensure the smooth flow of work.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric Certificate (Maths/Maths Lit & Biology/Physics /Life Science).
• Experience in processing as a Technician or Laboratory Assistant would be advantageous.
• Computer literate.
• The working hours are variable and shift work is required.
