    Manager: External Communications

    Core purpose of the Job

    The Manager: External Communications will be responsible for implementing plans aimed at enhancing MTN’s reputation, by coordinating activities related to external communication internally and with key media and external stakeholders, in line with MTN Ambition 2025 strategy.

    Key Performance Areas

    The Manager: External Communications will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Provide input into MTN Group’s external communications strategy and plan, providing expertise on key aspects of external communications, which will enhance MTN reputation
    • Work with the General Manager: External Communications implement external communication strategy that build awareness of and a positive image for MTN with key stakeholders
    • Create real-time content as needed for social platforms, to promote MTN corporate image
    • Keep abreast on new social media platforms, tools and best practices that can enhance the ability of MTN to promote its image and minimize the risks of media exposure
    • Work closely with the Corporate Affairs team to identify story angles illustrating key themes, in order to promote MTN corporate image
    • Coordinate Media relations activities concerning corporate and related activities / issues
    • Coordinate media briefings, ensuring relevant stakeholders are present
    • Develop media content for the External Communications, aligned to overall strategy and ensuring compliance with governance requirements
    • Build relationships with key media representatives, industry publications and trends, prepare MTN spokespersons and coordinate interviews
    • Write and edit communications deliverables such as press releases, press pitches, newsletter articles, external website contents, executive updates and other, as assigned
    • Develop content to position MTN’s ESG strategy, working with the sustainability team
    • Work closely with General Manager: External Communications and co-ordinate with Manager: Digital Channels to leverage digital platforms to tell ESG story
    • Proactively work with OpCos, business divisions and to develop and maintain content hub to position MTN externally
    • Track media coverage and prepare results reports, identifying key areas of concern
    • Maintain media distribution lists, ensuring these are up to date and complete with key media players, from an industry and market perspective
    • Monitor compliance with External Communications policy and framework, identifying risk areas, when applicable
    • Monitor negative press on MTN across all OpCos, assisting the General Manager: External Communications with mitigation strategies, to reduce the impact of the negative news
    • Maintaining professional working relationships with the Media representatives
    • Monitor the legislative and regulatory affairs environment and incorporate within the development of communication content to ensure understanding by key internal stakeholders
    • Conduct research, on both open and close sources, to ensure understanding of trends and potential developments that can impact MTN across Group
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive information records tracking systems and databases

    Key Deliverables

    • Implementation of KPA’s according to agreed performance management system
    • Relevant and credible input into media management, related to corporate communications
    • Produce communication material for external communications, ensuring relevance and quality
    • Input and contribution to MTN Group External Communications strategy

    Job Requirements

    Education:

    • Minimum of 3-year tertiary degree / diploma
    • Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body as required for role

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in area of specialisation coupled with supervising / managing others
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous
    • Experience working in a small to medium organization

    Manager: Procurement

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    • The position will support the Senior Manager to execute on all duties related to GGSC.

    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)

    Key Deliverables

    The Manager, Procurement will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    GSSC Sourcing

    • Manage end-to-end contract life cycle management within the agreed timelines (from Sourcing to contract retirement)
    • Conduct Supplier Evaluation, Selection and Measurement for assigned Purchase Categories
    • Apply relevant practices and tools to evaluate and select suitable supplier.
    • Project manage sourcing event from RFx issue until contract signature.
    • Prepare relevant Local and Country Agreement template for new sourcing events (RFx).
    • Coordinate contract review between supplier, Legal, Insurance, Tax, Treasury, Finance and Data Privacy and arrange supplier meetings
    • Proactively manage renewal of existing current agreement in line with approved process.
    • Apply an appropriate structured approach to cost reduction
    • Target pricing and Cost-Based pricing based on credible benchmarking; establish and execute a negotiation process with Suppliers
    • Ensure that all activities are conducted are MTN Compliant (policies and processes)
    • Manage all manual bank verifications as per SSH instruction in partnership with group finance on a ad hoc basis.
    • Review the Request for Information (RFI)/Request for Quotation (RFQ)/ Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements and supporting documentation sent by the business functions
    • Liaise with SSH to conduct vendor due diligence for new suppliers as part of supplier registration for E-Sourcing.
    • Create collaboration team for evaluation of the RFI/RFQ/RFP end to end including inform awarded and non-awarded suppliers of their status
    • Ensure that the Full GSSC – BBBEE process is adhered to according to MTNs policies
    • The Manager, Procurement will be required to perform ad hoc requirements/projects that are not included in the operational deliverables on a as and when basis.
    • Provide adequate and timely feedback to internal stakeholders and manage expectations

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

    Education:

    • 3 Years Degree or Diploma in Commerce and/or Procurement/Purchasing
    • CIPS Certification (Minimum level 4) (will be advantage).
    • Any registration to Professional Procurement and / or Supply Chain body (will be advantage.

    Experience:

    • 5 -8 years relevant work experience
    • Experience in Sourcing, Contract Management and Procurement.
    • Experience in ERP systems (Oracle).
    • Spend Analytics (Sievo preferred)
    • eSourcing Platform
      1. Advance experience in MS Office, especially MS Excel

    Senior Manager: Sales solution and architecture (Limited duration contract- 12 months)

    The Senior Manager: Sales solution and architecture is responsible to drive business development and ICT solutions sales across nominated markets. The role will work closely with the MTN GEBU Leadership Team and the Opco CEOs, the role will be responsible for mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure alignment with the enterprise architectural plan and to drive ICT Solutions sales across nominated markets.     The Senior Manager: Sales solution and architecture is accountable for the following objectives:

    • Drive business development and ICT solutions sales across nominated Opco’s
    • Generate a pipeline for ICT converge services portfolio across Opco’s
    • Execute lead generation events and campaigns to generate leads and opportunity for EBU
    • Drive leads and opportunities through the sales life cycle to generate net new business for MTN EBU
    • Provide input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximise the return on technology investment.
    • Review, interpret and respond to detailed business requirements specifications (BRS) to ensure alignment between customer expectations and current or future ICT capability.
    • Translate business requirements into technical architecture specifications and models, solution design, process diagrams and concepts of operation. Estimate costs and build a business case to justify the ROI for the solution, considering infrastructure, licenses, development and support.
    • Present business cases to Senior Management (TES, ICT and Commercial) for approval, funding and prioritization.
    • Gain organisational commitment for all technology and software plans, as well as evaluate and select all technologies required to complete those plans considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance.
    • Work in cross functional teams to define, deliver and support the design and development of technology solutions that are fit for purpose, meet the business requirements and objectives and are in alignment with the agreed enterprise architecture, corporate ICT standard and business operational standards
    • Ensure Proposed customer Solutions are deliverable within customer time lines, customer budgets and relevant governance according to process and procedures. Review new and existing solutions design projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with standards and
    • architectural plans.
    • Oversee implementation of customer centric, end-to-end integrated solutions according to the strategic roadmap of the ICT team and based on existing capabilities/functionalities.
    • Work closely with cross functional team members to deliver the solution for the customer implemented in the most efficient and cost-effective manner while ensuring the solution is complete, operable, conforms to business processes and meets the business needs with the agreed quality of service.
    • Document and maintain the organisations existing solutions architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
    • Participate from time to time in the supplier selection process, evaluating usefulness and cost of products and making appropriate recommendations.
    • Work collaboratively with a global team to create and execute research into the feasibility of emerging Solutions trends, assess their applicability for the MTN Group in meeting product development goals, and recommend the introduction of viable solutions and standards that meet the business needs and drive improvements.
    • Assist in maintaining and updating technical road maps and strategy as well as maintaining and improving internal architectural standards, in alignment with ICT Business requirements.

    General Manager: Multinational Sales

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    • The General Manager is responsible for managing the centralised MNCs organisation within MTN Group Enterprise Business Unit, including sales, pre-sales and post-sales support. The role is responsible for the leadership, P&L, account relationship and team motivation of the MNC area by leading the development and execution of the to be formed MNC unit.
    • The role will be responsible to manage a team of sales managers, including sales support, solutioning, service management and administrative support. This is to ensure that the sales targets for MNC accounts are met and prioritised, ensuring account satisfaction and NPS targets are increased. The General Manager will ensure account strategies and plans are in place and executed.
    • The role will also supervise the Bid management resources ring-fenced to support MNC and Tier 2 / Tier 3 OpCo bids, ensuring prioritisation and qualification of bids and managing and coordinating the output delivered by the bid management team

    • The General Manager: Multinationals Sales function will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
    • Devise overall MNC strategy in terms of unit mandate and implementation guidelines, taking other business head needs/ observation as input
    • Provide oversight of all MNC activities, manage day to day operations and approve requests for sales training
    • Coordinate account management strategies, including account planning and sales pipeline management for MNC accounts
    • Coordinate and prioritise the efforts of the Business Development managers by identifying the right accounts to targets and providing strategic support
    • Assist in institutional relationship development with the key MNC customers and seek executive management support and escalation when required to maintain or win large accounts
    • Deliver against annual targets on Revenue and TCV while keeping operational expenses of team to budgeted levels
    • Ensure the sales team is aware of and trained on the MTN product portfolio, sales promotions and sales communications
    • Guide and assist subordinates articulate own role and accountabilities
    • Shape the direction of multiple teams and enable talent to grow by creating opportunities in the sales and pre-sales environment
    • Ensure the sales team is aligned to the MTN sales playbook and that the sales practices are aligned to the MTN way of selling
