    Operations Manager: Veterinary Wildlife Services

    Requirements

    • Tech in Nature Conservation / BSc Conservation Management.
    • 4 – 6 years wildlife capture experience.
    • Driver’s licence (normal & heavy vehicles).
    • Experience as a Capture Supervisor.
    • Animal behaviour skills, Capture, holding and relocation experience.
    • Experienced Operations Coordinator with excellent Communication skills.
    • Execution of scheduled operations.
    • Firearm Competency.
    • Staff Supervision.
    • Knowledge of Safety regulations and Animal handling skills.
    • Knowledge of Relevant legislations, SANParks policies and procedures, Vet pharmaceuticals and associated hazardous materials.
    • Good Administration & Finance Management Skills.

    Responsibilities

    • To coordinate the implementation of planned wildlife operations and species according to SANParks’ strategy.
    • To ensure sound governance and financial management of operations.
    • To mentor Supervisors and identify required human capital development interventions.
    • To provide specified services to and on behalf of the organisation, with specific reference to the wildlife management plan, wildlife sales, wildlife economy project, and other project management.
    • To coordinate and liaise with internal and external clients to ensure that the agreed requirements are met.
    • To coordinate the resources and equipment required for the successful capture and holding of wildlife.
    • To ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislations pertaining to wildlife operations and facilities.
    • To identify risks associated with wildlife operations and recommend improvements.
    • To coordinate and execute on-site capture and holding activities.
    • To provide the relevant capture operations data to management

    Administrator (Permanent)

    • A vacancy exists for the position of Administrator in the new Grasslands National Park Rhodes Maclear region of the Eastern Cape. To provide administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
    • The administrator will assist in general office tasks including data entry, recordkeeping, filing, and correspondence. The position will be stationed at the Nqanqarhu (Maclear) office which is situated outside the park and will report to the SANParks Park Expansion Manager. There is no accommodation offered inside the park.

    Requirements

    • A qualification at NQF Level 5 in Administration (Finance) or Office Management.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • 1 to 3 years of experience in an administrative role.
    • A valid Code 08 (or equivalent) driver’s license.
    • Experience as an Assistant Accountant will be an added advantage.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform general administrative tasks including photocopying, scanning, faxing, and maintaining both electronic and physical filing systems.
    • Facilitate the efficient procurement of goods and services required by park personnel.
    • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely processing of all supplier invoices.
    • Provide secretarial support as needed, including assisting with the preparation of
    • reports, presentations, and correspondence.
    • Manage office supplies and inventory, including ordering and stock control.
    • Accurately capture and process data on relevant systems.
    • Prepare procurement documentation in line with Supply Chain Management (SCM) policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that requisitions are authorized according to the delegation framework.
    • Support internal communication efforts by maintaining noticeboards and distributing information as required.
    • Maintain detailed administrative records and manage an appointments diary effectively.

    3X Quantity Surveyors (Fixed Term Contract)

    Requirements

    • A Degree/ BSC/ B-Tech in Quantity Surveying. (NQF Level 7). (Essential).
    • Relevant Honours Degree (NQF level 8(an added advantage).
    • Minimum 5-7 years post-qualification experience working under Quantity Surveying firm.
    • Computer Literate (MS Office Suit).
    • Proficiency in Computer-aided Quantity Surveying applications.
    • Registered as professional quantity surveyor will be an added advantage.
    • Driver’s licence and own transport is essential.
    • Sound knowledge of the OHSACT and Construction Regulations
    • Stable employment record and contactable references.

    Responsibilities

    • Incumbent will perform effective control and management of cost and budget.
    • Provide support and expertise at every stage of the project from initial feasibility to Project final account.
    • Site Measurements, preparation of Bill of Quantity.
    • Analyse and forecast against estimated cash flows.
    • Prepare monthly cost billing and payment certificates.
    • Prepare & develop construction programmes.
    • Assist with preparation management reports as and when required.
    • Perform any other general estimating or quality surveying duties as may be directed by management.
    • Comply with all internal control, policies procedures and standards
