    Storeman - Cape Town

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

    • Receiving and binning goods, checking against documentation that goods are correct.
    • Performing stock counts in accordance with agreed plan as specified by the Materials Controller
    • Issuing goods, ensuring that relevant documentation accompanies goods as per prescribed procedures.
    • Arranging and packing of goods for the dispatch and or distribution Updating the SAP computer system when goods are issued or received
    • Expedite regular inventory management tasks such as binning, preservation, and other general housekeeping requirements as specified by the Asset Management Assistant (AMA).                                                                                                                
    • Filing all documents related to the stores functions which includes, receiving, issuing, stock counts and other documents as required.
    • Inform Asset Management Assistant (AMA) of urgent requirements and of issues regarding stock.
    • Expediting all safety requirements in the stores and areas where materials are stored outside the stores.
    • Checking backorder reports, bringing to the attention of the AMA any potential problem areas                                                           

    Qualifications:

    • Matric or NQF 4

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • At least 3 years warehousing experience
    • Storeman certificate would be advantageous.
    • Intermediate SAP knowledge will be an advantage.

    SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:     

    • Computer literate (competent on Excel)
    • Good Organizing and Communication skills
    • Report writing

    Able Seafarer (Ordinary Seafarer) - Engine

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Ensuring the efficient operation of the engine room by providing general maintenance assistance
    • Performing general housekeeping duties and maintenance functions
    • Conducts checks and reports the equipment information as required.
    • Maintaining the equipment in the Engine Room by regular cleaning and removing of waste
    • Assists with lifting, rigging, and moving of spares and equipment.
    • Operates cranes and derricks for loading & discharging of stores/spares.
    • Performs general housekeeping duties according to departmental requirements.
    • Assist with vessel operations as instructed - general maintenance work in engineering related areas i.e., cleaning, stowing of engine room equipment, washing down, painting, greasing of engine room and vessel machinery.
    • Assists artisans, technicians and engineers when required.

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 or NQF equivalent

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Able Seafarer ticket (STCW II/5)
    • 1 year experience in a sea going environment.

    Senior Supply Chain Officer

    The incumbent is accountable for:

    • Preparation of enquiry documents, ensuring maximum safeguards and benefits to the company, based on information provided by the originator (e.g. technical, specifications, commercial factors)
    • Facilitation of tender site visits.
    • Ensure scope clarification with the originator and the tenderers, including tender clarification and compliance to procurement procedures.
    • Ensure commercial evaluation of tenders received with the objective of deriving sound commercial recommendations.
    • Provide guidance to originator and relevant stakeholders on legal and contractual implications of tenders during contract life cycle.
    • Negotiate favorable conditions such as terms of payment, performance, escalation principles and deliverables prior to contract award.
    • Preparation of final contract documentation reflective of commercial, legal and performance agreement between the contractor and company.
    • Facilitate the signing of contracts and appointment of Company Representatives.
    • Interface with on Mine Group of Supply Chain Services.
    • Manage supplier relationship through establishing and maintaining relationships with contracted suppliers for the operation.
    • Ensure compliance with the company Code of Conduct and Business Ethics and Corporate Governance Company Policies and Procedures and Legislation.
    • Give due consideration to Preferential Procurement with regards to BEE, Local Procurement

    Qualifications:

    Education & Experience

    • Grade 12/ Std 10/N3 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification
    • National Diploma in Logistics/Purchasing/ Commercial is Essential
    • Relevant CIP’s qualification will be an advantage
    • Negotiate and manage high value and production critical commodity and service contracts - including amendments, price adjustments and general contract administration.
    • At least 3 Years of Contractual negotiations experience between supplier and the company with knowledge of issuing RFQ’s, arranging site visits and evaluating multiple tenders received.
    • Negotiate Terms and Conditions from a supplier requirement and Terms and Conditions from De Beers
    • Managing suppliers for the term of the contract.
    • At least 5 Years of Supply Chain standard/purchasing experience within the Mining industry
    • SAP Materials Management previous experience essential
    • Valid EB/Code 08 Drivers License
    • Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness certificate) on mine
