    Researcher - (1713)

    Responsibilities: 

    • Conduct independent and collaborative research projects in alignment with the objectives of the SARChI; 
    • Publish high-quality research papers in accredited journals and present findings through science engagement through scientific and non-scientific media and platforms; 
    • Participate in grant writing and secure funding for research projects; 
    • Mentor students involved in research activities 
    • Provide training on research methods 
    • Engage and co-construct interventions with families and community stakeholders to strengthen families 

    Minimum Requirements

    • Masters focusing on the family 
    • PhD Registration focusing on the family 
    • Demonstrated expertise in the study of the family 
    • At least one (1) accepted or published article, book, book chapter 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills especially with and in communities 
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment 
    • Ability to project manage 

    Recommended: 

    • Involvement in professional societies and networks 
    • Registration with the HPCSA or the SACSSP 
    • Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into practical applications

    Senior Lecturer / Lecturer - (1705)

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibilities: 

    • Teaching and learning at undergraduate and Psychology Honours level. 
    • Teaching on the professional Masters Clinical Psychology and/or Masters Research Psychology programme.
    • Research supervision of Psychology Honours and Masters level students. 
    • Research supervision of Doctoral level students, if in possession of a PhD.
    • Clinical and psychometry supervision of Masters level clinical students if holding an MA in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and three years post registration experience.
    • Participation in research, curriculum development and staff development.
    • Developing industry and academic partnerships.
    • Engaging in community outreach.
    • Responsible for administrative duties within the department, faculty and the university.

    Minimum Requirements

    • At  Senior Lecturer level
    • A PhD in Psychology.
    • A Master’s degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or Research Psychology or Neuropsychology or general Psychology (i.e., MA Psychology or M. Soc.Sc in Psychology).
    • Registration with the HPCSA in Clinical or Counselling Psychology if the applicant holds an MA degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology. 
    • Three years post-registration experience if the applicant holds an MA degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
    • Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. 
    • Postgraduate research supervision experience at MA and/or PhD level. 
    • Evidence of peer reviewed publications.

    At  Lecturer level

    • A Master’s degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or Research Psychology or Neuropsychology or general Psychology (i.e., MA Psychology or M. Soc.Sc in Psychology).
    • Registration with the HPCSA in Clinical or Counselling Psychology if the applicant holds an MA degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology. 
    • Three years post-registration experience if the applicant holds an MA degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
    • Experience in undergraduate teaching.   
    • Postgraduate research supervision experience. This includes Honours research supervision experience. 
    • Evidence of peer reviewed publications.

    Added Advantages 

    • A PhD in Psychology or progressing towards a PhD (for Lecturer level).
    • Demonstrated experience in teaching related to competencies at the Masters Clinical Psychology level if the applicant holds an MA in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (e.g., psychopathology, therapeutic interventions, neuropsychology and psychological assessment). 
    • Registration with the HPCSA as a Research Psychologist if the applicant holds an MA in Research Psychology.

    SharePoint Developer - (1686)

    Key Responsibilities of the incumbent include but are not limited to: 

    • Design, develop, maintain and support the current and new SharePoint sites based on business requirements,
    • Extend SharePoint functionality with new web parts and extensions, 
    • Configure the SharePoint solutions to specified requirements,
    • Develop workflows as per business requirement using Microsoft Power Platform (incl. Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Virtual Agents), 
    • Authoring of written documentation to support developed solutions,
    • Identify new and emerging technologies and products based on own area of expertise,
    • Provide 2nd and 3rd line incident resolution,
    • Identify, report and manage issues and risks,
    • Testing and debugging code as well as quality assurance,
    • Estimate the efforts involved for development and implementation tasks and prepare Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as needed,
    • Review performance and software stability and health of SharePoint sites,
    • Participate in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) phases especially solution design, development, configuration, testing, deployment and maintenance of SharePoint sites,
    • Work in collaboration with the various ICS units, particularly the ICS Project Management Office, Infrastructure & Operations team and Application Development teams, towards the successful delivery of various projects,
    • Training and mentorship of junior developers.

    Minimum Requirements

    Minimum education and experience required: 

    • A 3 year Degree (NQF 7) or an Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, together with 5 years of relevant experience developing SharePoint site 
    • or, a relevant SharePoint or Office 365 certification with 8 years’ experience working in the Office 365/Sharepoint development domain.

    Minimum competencies required: 

    • Experience implementing SharePoint On-Premises, SharePoint Online, Power Platform and O365 solutions,
    • Experience of SharePoint Framework (SPFx), SharePoint PnP, SharePoint Search, TypeScript, C#, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript,
    • Basic experience of SharePoint APIs,
    • Basic understanding of service-oriented and object-oriented development environment,
    • Understanding of modern SharePoint web stack and creating deployable packages,
    • Experience creating low code/no code solutions using PowerApps and Power Automate workflows,
    • Basic understanding of Microsoft Graph and Azure Active Directory,
    • Understanding hybrid implementation of SharePoint on-premise and SharePoint online and related complexities,
    • Experience of SharePoint document and record management and data migration and migration tools,
    • Proven ability to develop innovative, secure, scalable, re-usable, user-friendly and accessible solutions.

    • Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Population Studies with specific focus on Population Projections, Population Development and Reproductive Health
    • Conduct research and publish on topics related to Population Studies/Demography
    • Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision
    • Provide academic leadership and administration
    • Undertake curriculum development and assessment
    • Participate in community engagement and outreach

    Minimum Requirements

    • PhD or equivalent in the field of Population Studies/Demography
    • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching, in the field of Population Studies/Demography
    • A record of quality peer reviewed publications in high impact journals, in the field of Population Studies/Demography
    • A record of successful postgraduate supervision
