    Senior ERP Project Manager

    Job Description

    Engagement / Project Manager: South Africa

    • Our Professional Services Engagement / Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the Workday solution on some of our largest projects. The Engagement Manager will drive the client implementation and will be involved in the development of several key project deliverables (e.g., charter, project/staffing plan, issue logs, etc.) and work with the Client project manager to resolve issues that stand in the way of project success. The Engagement Manager will also be responsible for managing the agreed budget and delivering the project profitably.  

    Responsibilities:

    • Become an expert in Workday's Implementation Methodology and use it for all engagements
    • Project manage 3 - 4 Medium Enterprise Workday product implementations
    • Demonstrate competency in the Workday HCM product suite
    • Participate in the sales cycle when requested to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach and develop a proposal/SOW
    • Provide guidance and mentoring to those Professional Service resources working on their implementations
    • Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed
    • Full project P+L ownership
    • Work with the client project manager to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes
    • Work with Delivery Assurance to ensure compliance with agreed to checkpoints
    • Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings
    • Ensure the client takes advantage of Workday best practices
    • Be a liaison for professional services when interacting with sales and/or development.
    • Identify opportunities to position other service offerings
    • Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing their implementation
    • Assist in the transition of the customer from professional services to product support
    • Ensure the project is delivered within the budget outlined in the SOW
    • Present client with change orders in the event they're asking Workday to perform tasks that are outside the scope of the SOW
       

    Requirements:

    • Demonstrable experience project managing large Softwareimplementations for complex multi-national organisations
    • Consulting experience either as an internal consultant or with a consulting/software company.
    • Experience implementing Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar application desirable
    • Working knowledge with at least one of the following business areas: HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting/Talent, Financials
    • Experience project managing financial implementations or knowledge of Financial Business processes and Financial Reporting
    • Experience of managing 3rd parties in a project is desirable
    • Professional Services or SaaS industry experience a plus
    • Excellent organisation, time management, and communication skills
    • Passion for customer service
    • Business development skills
    • Knowledge of Internet technology
    • Previous experience with a major systems integrator and/or an enterprise software company a plus
    • Previous service sales experience a plus. Successful candidates have a balance of functional (business) and technical experience
    • Ability to travel 25-50%
    • Fluent English is essential

    • Workday is looking for a HCM Presales Solution Consultant, with Human Capital Management (HCM) product expertise, to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa!
    • This is your chance to represent and demonstrate the value of next generation HCM and Financial Management Solutions - ERP in the cloud, to Workday prospect customers.  Through interactive Pre-Sales demonstrations you will analyse an organisation's environment and then propose and demonstrate how Workday's Enterprise Solutions can address their requirements and solve their business concerns.     • As a Workday HCM Solution Consultant, you will be fully equipped to use your in-depth product knowledge to provide ERP expertise to the sales team and the customers, and receive the best training through our on-boarding programme where you will for example spend a week in our global HQ in California.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Our Pre-Sales team is a strategic partner to the Workday sales organisation and responsible for building a compelling vision of the Workday solution.
    • Assist in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs
    • Prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions
    • Provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation

    Experience

    • Proven track record in a Pre-Sales / Sales Consulting role
    • Extensive HCM domain expertise and preferably experience in cross ERP functions such as Planning, Projects and Financials
    • Expertise knowledge of Administrative systems around Human Capital Management (Talent Management Suite, Core HR, Workforce analytics)
    • Experience presenting Administrative computing solutions in front of a technical and business audience
    • Experience of value based selling in a Pre-Sales / Sales Consulting environment
    • Strong technical and functional experience
    • Ability to work under pressure and work on multiple projects
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong presentation skills with an ability 'tell the story'
