    Insure Adviser | Pretoria

    Job description:

    • We are seeking a highly experienced Insure Adviser to drive new business growth, develop broker and intermediary relationships, and lead sales performance within the short-term insurance environment.
    • This is a senior, performance-driven role requiring extensive insurance sales experience combined with proven business development and people-management capability.

    Responsibilities:

    • Driving aggressive and sustainable new-business growth.
    • Identifying and developing new commercial insurance opportunities.
    • Establishing and developing relationships with brokers, intermediaries, strategic partners and prospective clients.
    • Building and actively managing the new-business sales pipeline.
    • Leading, coaching and holding sales/business-development staff accountable for performance.
    • Establishing individual and team KPIs and monitoring performance against agreed targets.
    • Developing tactical sales plans aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
    • Conducting regular pipeline, conversion and performance reviews.
    • Assisting sales staff with complex opportunities, presentations and commercial negotiations.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Completed RE 5 Certificate
    • Completed NQF 5 Short-term insurance certificate
    • Completed Managerial qualification at NQF Level 6 or higher
    • Minimum 15 years' experience in the South African short-term insurance industry.
    • Minimum 10 years' experience specifically involving commercial short-term insurance.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a formal sales leadership or sales management position, managing sales teams against measurable KPIs, targets and performance standards

    Additional Experience Required:

    Previous experience as both:

    • an individual sales/business development professional; and
    • a sales team leader or manager responsible for the performance of other sales professionals.
    • Demonstrable experience managing a B2B sales team of at least 10 sales professionals/ advisors/ business development staff.
    • Proven experience in both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines insurance sales environments.
    • Proven experience in broker and intermediary relationship management.
    • Demonstrable experience in new-business development and client acquisition, including prospecting, qualifying opportunities, developing proposals, commercial negotiations and conversion.
    • Demonstrable track record of achieving or exceeding formal sales, premium or new-business targets.
    • Proven experience in sales coaching, performance management and development of sales staff.
    • Experience translating company strategy into practical sales plans and measurable execution.
    • Experience developing and managing sales pipelines, forecasts and tactical business-development plans.
    • Working knowledge of the South African regulatory environment applicable to financial services and short-term insurance.
    • Demonstrable experience using CRM and digital sales-management systems.

    Advantageous Qualifications and Experience:

    • Formal project-management training or certification.
    • Formal Agile training.
    • Experience developing business cases and contributing to annual sales planning and forecasting.
    • Managed teams of 10 or more direct reports.
    • Worked across direct sales, B2B sales and broker/intermediary distribution channels.
    • Held both Business Development Manager/Consultant and Sales Manager/Regional Sales Manager positions during their career.
    • Demonstrable national or company-level recognition for exceptional sales performance.
    • Experience participating in sales teams responsible for large commercial premium/revenue targets.
    • A documented history of developing underperforming sales staff into consistent target-achieving performers.

    Job Overview:

    • The Member Consultant: Healthcare is responsible for the day-to-day, on-site servicing and administration of healthcare employer groups. Under the guidance of the Healthcare Account Executive, this role requires active engagement with client HR departments and employees through face-to-face consultations.
    • The consultant will be involved in advising on healthcare-related products, resolving queries, conducting member training, assisting with billings, and facilitating onboarding and renewals. This role also includes significant travel to client sites, and a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license is essential.

    Responsibilities:

    Member Support

    • Resolve day-to-day member queries within SLA for assigned employer groups.
    • Respond timeously to client enquiries, escalating complex matters to the Account Executive.
    • Facilitate onboarding for new employees, including plan selection guidance.
    • Provide face-to-face query resolution to HR/Payroll and members.
    • Deliver client induction presentations and renewal training.
    • Assist in developing and rolling out healthcare strategies under guidance.
