    Senior Specialist: Core Data Network

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    Specialist: Branded Channel

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The Branded Channel Specialist’ role is a hands on operational and tactical role that is responsible for driving sales, service performance and business model compliance across segments and branded channels within their specified area.
    • The role is accountable for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, which include trade and channel partners, the internal organisation and suppliers. The role is meant to effectively support branded retail in terms of operational excellence in sales, service and customer experience.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Sales Management

    • Drive target related growth of sales and revenues within the specified branded channel
    • Third line escalation from trade partners (customer queries) – ECLO
    • Manage the enablement of the sales processes across the branded Channel
    • Ensure implementation and success of new products and services and identify opportunities to drive product awareness
    • Monitor competitor activities and ensure gap closure through the development of competitor activity plans
    • Find partnership opportunities to leverage on the expected KPIs
    • Plan, organise and monitor activities to fulfil the required KPIs
    • Ensuring all required training is completed by the stores in the channel
    • Prioritizing customer experience in all activities carried through the branded channel 

    Distribution and Marketing Management

    Customer Experience Management

    • Achieve the tNPS and NPS targets across all segments within the channel.
    • In collaboration with Marketing, support and manage performance across branded channel distribution points/stores by analysing, scores/data and opportunities to improve the customer Experience
    • Analyse, resolve and feedback on all regional customer issues 

    Operations Excellence and Reporting

    • Manage store operational compliance via associated systems and follow through with any non-compliance until rectified
    • Drive Retail Spirit Beat completion and monitor actions taken to improve ways of working, culture etc.
    • Ensure policies are adhered to across the branded distribution points/stores
    • Ensure governance and adherence of retail operating model
    • Plan, implement and manage recovery plans for underperforming stores within the dedicated branded stores 
    • Measure, Analyse and Report on a monthly basis on key activities , findings , learnings and areas of improvement and identify opportunities to improve sales and service within the branded retail that will positively impacts revenues , market share and customer experience
    • Provide executive management reports or other applicable or ad hoc reports that may be required

    • Support the implementation of all branded channel retail capabilities and ensure this is maintained at all time as part of BAU
    • Complete all the required scorecards on branded channels on a monthly basis.

    Relationship Management

    • Engage and manage the relationships with various stakeholders – Vodacom Head Office, regional teams, suppliers and stores
    • Negotiate and collaborate to achieve the best results outcome that positively impact customer experience (NPS/TNPS/Trade Partners, Retail Spirit Beat etc.)
    • Implement people transformation initiatives in third parties where applicable
    • Serve as the first point of contact for escalations assistance for Branded stores 

    Training Management

    • Ensure adherence of all branded stores to training requirements and that all training has been completed prior to rendering service
    • Assist in training initiatives linked to knowledge gaps and new product introductions
    • Drive and support Learning & development on all training initiatives that need to be implemented and monitor performance
    • Ensure the trades’ knowledge levels are of the recommended standards - Identify Knowledge level gaps and book training accordingly.
    • Drive seamless customer experiences. Provide insight and feedback about the customer journey and processes across all Branded channels to the Customer Insights team

    Field Management

    • Ensure that field targets are achieved via the associated system.
    • Ensure the use of all applicable systems required to manage the branded channel e.g. Retail Cloud
    • Drive Red Flag closures via the regional support structure and Head Office teams
    • Adhere to weekly visits and monthly call cycle

    Digital Management

    • Ensure adherence and use of all digital capabilities, tools made available to render services and manage the adoption rate

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    Senior Specialist: Organisational Effectiveness & Change

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The role is accountable to drive the Organisation Effectiveness (OE) agenda and will be required to provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the HR teams as required.

    Principal Specialist: Data Products

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • A strategic role combining data product management and organisational culture change to embed a data-first mindset across Vodacom Group.

    • Define and co‑build enterprise‑wide data products (e.g. Customer, Network, Fraud, Supply Chain) in collaboration with functional data stewards and business champions.
    • Develop and maintain data product roadmaps, backlogs and documentation to ensure clarity, discoverability and reuse.
    • Partner with data engineering, data science and technology teams to ensure data products are scalable, high‑quality and accessible.

    Embed Data Product Management Disciplines

    • Champion data‑as‑a‑product thinking by establishing product management practices such as OKRs, prioritisation, iteration cycles and user feedback loops.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Information System, Computer Science or a related field (essential).
    • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in data product management, data strategy, data analytics or a related data role.
    • Professional certification in Product Management and Product Delivery (e.g. AIPMM CPM, Safe Agile) or Data Management (e.g. DAMA CDMP) is advantageous. 

    Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

    Senior Credit Data Scientist

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing credit scorecards using machine learning models, using big data tools such as Spark and Python to analyze large volumes of data, and developing algorithms that drive business decisions.
    • The candidate must have excellent skills in mathematics, statistics, and AI, as well as a keen interest in data science and problem-solving.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Develop and maintain credit scorecards and risk assessment models to evaluate the creditworthiness of customers applying for handset financing and loan facilities.
    • Conduct thorough statistical analysis to identify relevant credit risk indicators and patterns, using large datasets.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and fine-tune credit scorecard models according to business needs.
    • Developing predictive models with large and varied datasets, working with a community of colleagues across Big Data and customer functions.
    • Contributing to the wider community to enable Machine Learning and AI capability across Vodafone globally.
    • Development of machine learning models for various areas of the business on the Big Data Platform

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or related fields (essential)
    • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Data Science
    • Experience working with and managing a team of junior data scientists
    • Experience in data manipulation: use of structured data tools (e.g., SQL), and unstructured data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL)
    • Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language

    Key Skills

    • Credit Scorecard Development: Proven experience in developing credit scorecards in the financial services or telecommunications industry.

This includes knowledge of regression analysis, time series analysis, hypothesis testing, and other relevant statistical tools to develop accurate credit risk models.

    • Programming Skills: Data Scientists should be proficient in programming languages commonly used in data analysis, such as Python (prefered) or R. Additionally, familiarity with libraries and frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or Keras is beneficial.

    Manager: Commercial Management

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • To lead and oversee the management insights and reporting function, budget control, statistical analysis, and strategic decision-making processes to enhance the regional commercial performance across Vodacom Business, Consumer, and Technology segments.
    • This role must perform the management insights and reporting function, budget control, statistical analysis and provide insight and recommendations to improving the regional ‘s commercial performance.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Reporting and Analysis:

    • Conduct comprehensive research to deliver insights, reporting and analysis of revenue, pricing, customer base management, market share, and channel performance across Business, Consumer, and Technology segments.
    • Generate findings into actionable insights and recommendations to drive strategic initiatives and improve commercial performance in each functional area.

    Cost Efficiency and Optimisation:

    • Benchmark regional cost and performance efficiencies against industry standards and best practices across Vodacom Business, Consumer, and Technology segments.
    • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives to optimise operational expenses while maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction in each functional area.

    Business Case and CVM Modelling:

    • Develop financial models and business cases to support the realisation of strategic objectives across Vodacom Business, Consumer, and Technology segments.
    • Analyse investment opportunities, assess risks, and forecast financial outcomes to inform decision-making processes in each functional area.

    Target Analysis and Alignment:

    • Analyse performance targets and compare results with benchmarks set as the centre across Vodacom Business, Consumer, and Technology segments.
    • Align seasonal trends with daily, weekly, and monthly run rate predictions to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency in each functional area.

    Risk Management and Compliance:

    • Identify and assess commercial risks related to market dynamics, regulatory changes, and operational activities.
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies and internal controls to safeguard Regional Operation’s interests.
    • Ensure compliance with Vodacom and industry regulatory standards governing regional operations

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Matric / Grade 12 
    • 3 year financial or commercial diploma or degree (NQF 6 or higher) or SAQA accredited equivalent with 5 years relevant experience 
    • 8-10 years of working knowledge of financial principles, commercial management, and financial functions 
    • Experience in the telecommunications industry across Business, Consumer, and Technology segments is preferable
    • A minimum of 2 years' experience at a management level, demonstrating leadership and decision-making capabilities.
    • Proven track record of an advisory role using insights to drive results and achieving targets in a dynamic and competitive environment across Business, Consumer, and
    • Technology segments.

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

    • Big data management with proficiency in statistical analysis, financial modelling, and business case development across Business, Consumer, and Technology segments.
    • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse stakeholders.
    • Track record of working in cross functional teams
