Main Purpose of the Job
- To source inventory and non-inventory items balancing price, quality, sustainability of supply and OTIF delivery to meet business needs
Education, experience and competencies
- Grade 12, Diploma in Procurement/Supply chain etc.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role
- Advanced Microsoft Office - Excel (Essential)
- Syspro experience (Advantage)
Responsibilities
- Procure goods to ensure that quality products are purchased at a competitive price and expedited for on time delivery
- Review supply price increases in line with previously supplied price, factors influencing the items cost and competitive quoting
- Follow up on outstanding supplier invoices
- Supplier performance management (tracking supplier performance in terms of quality, cost and delivery)
- Implement and coordinate tender processes to secure the highest quality product at the most competitive price for a predetermined period
- Source specific parts required for Production & Engineering
- Support the MRP system by keeping economic order quantities and lead times updated
- Load purchase requisitions on Syspro and follow-up on obtaining authorisation in line with limits of authority
- Load purchase orders on Syspro and expedite orders with suppliers
- Complete administration and documentation accurately
- Negotiate and manage supplier credit applications and settlement discounts
- Provide input to maintain safety stock levels
- Participate in stock takes and investigation when required
- Attend production and other meetings when required
- Reporting on key performance areas of the position
- Develop into a backup for the MRP Assistant in running the weekly Syspro MRP function
