    Customer Service Advisor

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Provide expanded assistance to customers, including end-users, distributors, and/or dealers seeking information through various mediums, under minimum supervision.
    • Document customer inquiry information within appropriate Cummins systems.
    • Provide prompt assistance to customers through various media. Multi-Skill/Multi-channel support (Chat/Email/Phone)
    • Resolve non-routine customer issues through an understanding of Cummins processes, systems, and practices.
    • Escalate complex issues providing documentation through process.
    • Leadership - leading a team of technicians in the workshop and field.

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Prior technical experience and/ or customer service experience is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Cummins engines will be an advantage.
    • Knowledge of QSOL procedures.
    • Knowledge of Excel / MS Windows skills & SAP knowledge.

    Power Generation Tender Application Engineer

    In this role, the candidate will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred. Application of and applying Cummins products and knowledge
    • Develop and compile technical-commercial responses to RFQs (requests for quotations) - gensets and balance of plant equipment for power generation solution
    • Drives utilization of Cummins tools and processes - i.e. PZ (Cummins power zone genset sizing tool), Quick serve, SFC (sales force.com), segment focus etc.
    • Develops specifications for turnkey project solutions and develop supplier, OEM relationships to improved value engineered design solutions and price offerings. Liaise and lead specific customer and internal project manager meetings
    • Conducts value engineering analysis. Respond to PGEN RFQs (site visit, design application, costing, balance of plant design and costing and tender submissions to customers). Assist in revenue recognition
    • Develop design and drawing folder design packages. Develops QA/QC (quality assurance / quality control) and commissioning data packs with project teams. Understanding of both electrical and mechanical design and engineering solutions

    To be successful in this role the candidate will need the following:

    • Qualification: Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering Degree. BSc or BTech Engineering qualification (Ideal) or National Diploma (min)
    • 5 years’ experience with Generator & EPC ( engineering, procurement and construction)
    • 5 years’ experience with designing and execution experience within a construction environment
    • Knowledge of Industry customer base

    Field Service Technician - Middelburg

    In this role, the candidate will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Product Repair and Maintenance - Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair; disassembles and assembles engines or power generators following guidelines, using required tools to ensure a clean and organized environment; inspects and replaces parts and components following re-use guidelines to minimize customers cost of ownership; performs progressive damage check following guidelines to restore to pre-failure condition.
    • Engine Systems Interactions - Interprets and analyzes the interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems (exhaust, heating, cooling, fuel systems, driveline, aftertreatment, controls, sensors, etc.) by applying tools, service publications (Cummins, Original Equipment Manufacturer) and taking measurements to efficiently and correctly diagnose and repair.
    • Electronic Service Tool Application - Identifies the suite of available hardware and software tools required for a service event; utilizes the appropriate electronic tool set to maintain the product or diagnose and troubleshoot an issue; interprets electronic tool results or recommendations to determine next steps for service resolution.
    • Diagnostics Application - Translates customer complaints to develop troubleshooting plan; troubleshoots issue following guided work flows, procedures, specialized equipment such as mechanical and electronic service tools, and diagnoses computer software to isolate failed components to enable a successful repair; validates repair by duplicating complaint to ensure it has been resolved; documents results of troubleshooting in business systems to communicate what has been done for payment and historical tracking.
    • Technical Escalation - Obtains product technical issue information and utilizes available resources including data management tools; elevates issues to a higher level of expertise, balancing timeliness of customer response with investigation efforts; captures all troubleshooting steps in the appropriate database in order to ensure seamless transitions and accurate response to ticket resolution in a timely manner.
    • Service Documentation - Creates and verifies customer, equipment and technical information; captures specific data using required service tools; follows procedures and documents required information in the service management system in order to have an accurate record of the work done.

    To be successful in this role the candidate will need the following:

    • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician and a vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
    • Locally valid driving permit
    • Basic level field service work experience and knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
    • Experience with reading wiring diagrams
