    Rights & Permission Lead

    Main Purpose:

    • As the Rights and Permissions Lead you will work strategically and collaboratively with the business and Editorial Development Team to ensure that all Rights and Permissions including third party rights (to assets such as images, text and videos) are acquired and maintained throughout the lifecycle for planned product portfolios, new content and distribution initiatives and granting services.
    • You will oversee and evolve Rights and Permission systems and policy initiatives.
    • Supports and engages with all planned and current products and third-party content
    • Ensures suitable rights clearance and coverage is in place and up to date for all content across all products and services including marketing materials.
    • Works closely with the Legal team to maintain rights clearance
    • Deliver any training and information to manage the risk associated with the portfolio, including risk profiling exercises with business leadership.
    • Leads and manages the Rights and Permissions team by providing ongoing support and opportunities for the professional development.
    • Oversees and manage the Rights and Permissions Renewals as well as Rights and Permissions Retirement where rights are returned back to the original rights owner/author.
    • Oversees the permissions granting process and works collaboratively with the internal stakeholders to grant or deny any permission requests.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Works with the team to request permissions from third-party
    • Works with the team to grant permission
    • Engage with Copyright holders, and negotiate quotes to ensure that the permissions are cleared within the available budget.
    • Implement and use rights management tools for checking, recording and tracking all projects and third-party assets, and resolve any issues working with your team.
    • Work with all internal stakeholders to establish a final close-out period for all completed
    • Actively track quotes and invoices across the rights clearance portfolio and work with the Product Development Support team to ensure processing is completed.
    • Provide reports and share insights with internal stakeholders on
    • Together with the Project Leads, manage the commissioning workflows of content, both print and digital, to ensure third party rights are considered.
    • Engage with Marketing teams to ensure that all promotional collateral adheres to rights clearance standards..

    Educational Requirements:    

    Education, qualifications & training:

    • Relevant Degree
    • At least three years spent working in a managerial or project management
    • Programs/courses in intellectual property, particularly intellectual copyright
    • Fluent in office applications, spreadsheets, and related programs
    • Proficiency with technology and familiarity with rights management systems
    • Experience with data analytics
    • Good commercial acumen
    • An interest in learning, education and digital

    Project Manager

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:    

    • Ensure that the project is delivered on-time, within scope, quality and budget.
    • Ensure resource availability and allocation and coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of the project.
    • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
    • Produce, maintain, store & share all project documentation using the dedicated Maskew Miller Learning project document repository & channels.
    • Measure and report project performance using appropriate tools and techniques and escalate risks & issues to the Programme Manager as needed.
    • Establish a strong pro-active partnership with all Maskew Miller Learning teams as well as external vendors contracted to the project.
    • Collaborate with internal team members whenever necessary to put new processes in place, unblock impediments, expedite certain deliverables etc.
    • Having a real-time visibility over the team’s capacity.

    Educational Requirements:   

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

    Experience Requirements:   

    • 4-6 years of proven track record managing education and/or technology project deployments on time and within budget.
    • Experience with standard PM processes, documentation and governance.
    • Strong project management skills, managing customer facing projects with ability to influence senior level management and key stakeholders.
    • Experience in various Project Schedule Management tools & techniques including hybrid waterfall & agile deployment, using sprints, burnup and burndown charts would be advantageous.
    • Ability to operate at the strategic and operational levels to support the team and add value to internal stakeholders.
    • Experience managing third party vendors and resources to ensure project deliverables are on time and within budget.
    • Proven ability to manage stakeholder engagements and expectations under high stress to successful completion.
    • Knowledge of the print production process, rights & permissions, digital product development & content management would be advantageous.
    • Previous Experience in Project Phoenix would be advantageous

    Chief Innovation & Technology Officer

    Key Responsibilities:

    Technology Strategy and Innovation:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with MML's overall business objectives.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to drive innovation and identify opportunities for technological advancements.
    • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of technology solutions to support MML's product development, delivery, and operational processes.
    • Foster a culture of innovation within the organisation by encouraging and supporting creative thinking, experimentation and lean innovation.

    Tech Product Development and Management:

    • Work closely with product teams to identify and assess technology-driven opportunities for new product development or enhancement of existing products.

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including content development teams, to ensure technology integration aligns with educational objectives and enhances the learning experience.
    • Define product roadmaps, timelines, and resource requirements for technology-driven initiatives.
    • Oversee the development, testing, and launch of technology-based products, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

    Tech Product Go-to-Market

    • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies for technology-based products.
    • Identify target markets and customer segments, and define the value proposition and positioning for each product.
    • Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling product messaging and marketing materials that effectively communicate the benefits of technology-driven solutions to customers.
    • Support the sales team in product demonstrations, customer presentations, and sales enablement activities.
    • Monitor market trends and customer feedback to continuously refine and optimise go-to-market strategies and tactics.
    • Ensure the successful launch and adoption of technology products by coordinating with internal stakeholders and managing cross-functional collaboration.

    Operational Technology Implementation:    

    • Identify operational areas where technology can streamline processes, improve efficiency, reduce costs and support innovation.
    • Collaborate with internal and external IT teams to assess, select, and implement technology solutions that align with business needs and improve operational effectiveness.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure successful deployment and adoption of technology solutions across the organisation.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of implemented technologies, making recommendations for enhancements or adjustments as needed.

    Technology Team Leadership and Collaboration:

    Educational Requirements  :

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in a field related to technology or business. A Master's degree is preferred. A qualification in education is a bonus.
    • Proven experience in a senior leadership role driving technology innovation and strategy.
    • Strong understanding of technology trends, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, and mobile applications.
    • Experience in prompt engineering is a bonus.
    • Demonstrated experience in product development and management, preferably in the education or “edtech”
    • A vision to utilise technology to scale educational solutions for global impact.
    • Experience in implementing and managing technology solutions across various business functions.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
    • Strong business acumen and the ability to align technology initiatives with organisational goals.
