    Architectural Representative

    Main Responsibilities

    • Developing relationships & providing solutions to all decision makers within the professional arena by selling the company, its services, its products and brands, and its expertise.
    • Marketing the endorsements & the development of specifications, which Favour Safal Group brands and products.
    • Contributing to the development and implementation of regional sales & marketing plans, which will support and contribute to the National Business objectives & National Marketing Strategy.
    • Assisting in compiling a national marketing strategy aimed at the professional sector and in creative execution of the agreed campaign.
    •  Managing, updating and controlling implementation documentation of Safal Steel’s Building Solutions digital marketing on a national basis, including the management of the blog, website design, content updates, and digital marketing campaigns.
    • Obtaining new projects through the effective management of the portfolio’s top clients.
    • Calling on professionals.
    • Achieving accepted “hit” rates for both sector reach and project conversion through cold calling, and the effective use of marketing and CRM tools, with the ultimate aim of achieving company profitability & objectives.
    • To inform the Professional sector and other product specifiers of the product benefits and features as well as correct application for our product range, to ensure that Safal Steel’s Building Solutions specifications are applied on projects and tenders (or RFP).
    • Maintaining and fostering relationships with existing and new professionals.
    • Exceeding individual potential and company objectives.
    • Developing, gathering and sharing of market intelligence with all stakeholders.
    • Communicating and assistance in resolving customer complaints arising from the professional sector.
    • Assimilation of required reporting & information for marketing purposes.
    • Attendance in and participation of stock takes, conference attendance and training sessions.
    • Any other duties and tasks as assigned by management from time to time.

    Requirements

    Qualifications required:

    • Minimum academic qualification: Degree-level qualification in marketing or architectural design.
    • Qualifications as an added advantage: Auto-CAD

    Experience required:

    • General work experience (years): 05 – 10 Years in Technical Field or related area.
    • Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): At least 5 years' experience in Business to Business Marketing in the built environment / roofing /related industry

    Business Development Officer

    Main purpose of the position:

    • Expand the market share and reach of Safal Steel through developing, maintaining, and growing business relationships with current and potential customers of Safal Steel.
    • To promote and educate all of Safal Steel’s stakeholders and the Construction industry at large on the Safal Steel product ranges in a professional manner.
    • Create, manage and monitor the Project Database for all projects within South Africa that are relevant to Safal Steel product ranges
    • Communicate pertinent business opportunities and project information to the relevant Marketing and Sales teams.
    • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to secure specification of Safal Steel product ranges on projects.
    • Support the Sales Department with customer training and education, securing new business, and providing technical information to assist the Sales team in securing new business and maintaining current business.
    • Required to Manage Western Cape , Eastern Cape and Southern Cape.

    External Customer Focus:

    • Pro-actively engaging with all stakeholders; establishing and maintaining good relationships with them with the purpose of growing revenue for Safal Steel. Stakeholders include Roll Formers, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Consultant Engineers, Contractors, Developers and Professional Associations
    • Maintain the Project Pipeline created to track the status of projects (i.e. Planning/Design Stage, Out to Tender, On site). Creating a pipeline projection for all internal stakeholders.
    • Provide Technical training and education on the Safal Steel range of products to all stakeholders

    Strategic Support for Sales Dept:

    Ensure Key Account Managers are assisted with the following:

    • Detailed product specifications
    • Timely updates and communication of the project database
    • Coordinate efforts to secure Safal Steel material specification for projects
    • Delivering formal technical and educational presentations to stakeholders
    • Assist Key Account Managers with technical support

    Support for Marketing Dept:

    • Provide technical insights into the commercial aspects of the Safal Steel product ranges
    • Delivery of presentations at CPD Events & Workshops
    • Assist with information on construction and development projects
    • Provide formal market feedback on Safal Steel products, campaigns and marketing initiatives

    General:

    • Resolving of customer complaints speed
    • Assist with additional tasks as requested by management from time to time
    • Uphold the company code of ethics

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications:

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Relevant  Sales/Marketing diploma/degree will be an advantage
    • Computer Literacy is essential (i.e. MS Office)
    • Knowledge of SAP would be a plus
    • Valid Driver’s Licence is essential and own transport

    Experience in General:

    • Minimum 5 years Sales & Business Development Experience
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Good knowledge of reading/speaking the English language. Afrikaans an advantage
    • Ability to engage and communicate with all levels of stakeholders
    • Liaise and communicate effectively with Colleagues and Management
    • Compilation and delivery of technical presentations to large groups

    Specific Experience:

    • Knowledge of the South African Roofing Industry would be an advantage
    • Proficiency in interpreting and reading architectural and structural drawings would be an advantage
    • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • Ability to travelling extensively
