    Pest & Weed Operator_MN3986/25

    REQUIREMENTS 

    • Grade 10. Grade 12 will be an added advantage. Operators certificate on pest & weed control will be an added advantage  Valid driver’s license. PrDP will be an added advantage. Interpersonal & communication skills.
    • Skills and competencies associated with vocation: adaptability, communication, conflict & stress management, negotiation skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Be able to read material safety data sheets.  Good physical health. A hard working, selfdisciplined person with strong leadership and motivational qualities.
    • 1 year relevant work experience in pest and weed control within Local Government Authority.

    DUTIES

    • By using a knapsack and other relevant machinery to control weed and insect in areas. Safe application of all products according to the standard work procedures with consideration of the environment, children and adults to ensure public safety and a healthy environment for all. Work with garden tools or any other machines when necessary if knapsack or grass cutting machine is out of order.
    • Responsible to know the material safety data sheet of every product before using it. Responsible for maintenance of knapsack and grass cutting machines.
    • Regularly inspecting equipment, tools and machines for any damage. To work full day in alternative short Fridays (Pay Day). Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management from time to time.

    Director - Expenditure MN 3401/25

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Relevant B-Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent NQF 7 qualifications. Driver’s License with own vehicle. Meet MFMA minimum competency requirement or qualify for dispensation.
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of Local Government legislation (MFMA, SCM and GRAP). Proven financial management skills.
    • Five (05) to Ten (10) years relevant experience related to Expenditure in Local Government environment of which 3 (Three) years must be at Middle Management Level. Proven knowledge of Local Government Supply Chain Regulations. Registration with a professional body will be an added advantage.

    DUTIES

    • Manage and compile payroll budget in accordance with the needs of the council’s organogram. Manage the payment of suppliers and payroll of council. Assist in control and coordination of council’s budget. Manage daily / monthly functions of the following sections: Expenditure. Cash Management. Pay Office and Grants Management.
    • Ensure compliance with National Treasury reporting standards. Assist in ensuring that council’s financial matters are in accordance with MFMA & SCM guidelines and legislation.
    • Prepare and submit reports to the Executive Director Finance and relevant political structures. Compile and Maintain UIFW Register. Assist in compilation of Annual Financial Statements; Assist in submission of information for compilation of Annual Financial Statements. Manage Tax Compliance functions including VAT, PAYE etc.
    • Ensure timeous preparation of reconciliations pertaining to creditors, payroll and other aspects of expenditure management. Ensure good cash management principles and investment of surplus cash as well as liability management.
    • Ensure timeous reporting of grant expenditure and ensure expenditure is in line with grant conditions. Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management from time to time including serving in SCM Bid Committees.

    Accountant Contract Management: SCM (MN 3989/25)

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12. National Diploma or Equivalent NQF-6 in Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business & Public Finance. Valid driver’s license. Computer literate (MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
    • 3 to 5 years relevant experience within a Local Government Authority related to contract management and tender environment.

    DUTIES

    • Assist in the management of Council’s contract register by ensuring that policies, procedures and regulations and legislation are adhered to. Manage and monitor all contracts related to inter alia, projects, processes, including adding new awards, expiry of contracts, price escalations, contract amendments and reconciliations of payments/commitments.
    • Ensures that all directives, legislation, regulations, delegations and policies are adhered to.
    • Ensures that purchases are made in accordance with existing contracts. Ensures that the general conditions of contract and special conditions of contract are adhered to. Applies risk management by minimising risks and liability with regard to contracts entered into by the municipality to coordinate contractual insurance requirements.
    • Report status of current contract processes to management. Inform the end-user department on a monthly/quarterly basis of the status of existing contracts. Serves as liaison, in conjunction with the relevant user department between internal and external parties, during contract development and negotiation stages.
    • Maintain contractual records. Implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy. Ensure Service level Agreement compliance. Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as and when requested by management from time to time.

    General Worksman: Water X2 MN 3994/25

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 10. Grade 12 will be an added advantage. Technical qualification in Plumbing will be an added advantage. Code 10 driver’s licence with valid PDP. Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • 2-3 years’ relevant experience and knowledge in water reticulation within Local Government authority or Government entity. Preference will be given to residents of Midvaal Local Municipality.

    DUTIES

    • To supervise and the team members to ensure that all water reticulation activities are executed in terms of work orders received and instructions. Driving heavy motor vehicles and transporting labourer team to and from work sites.
    • Assists in the maintenance of water reticulation supply systems. Loading and off-loading of materials and equipment. Responsible for general maintenance of equipment used.
    • Responsible for general administration and filing of works-orders. Responsible for productive and effective use of equipment and resources to ensure effective service delivery.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12. Computer literacy Certificate. Certificate in Office Admin or Public Admin (will be an added advantage). Valid Driver’s License (will be an added advantage). computer literacy (MS Word, excel and PowerPoint).

    • General admin duties for water section by: Undertaking routine correspondence duties by drafting replies and returns where necessary for future reference within the water section.
    • Performing fast and accurate typing duties for the Superintendent / Foreman of the water section by utilizing a word processor or personal computer to effective operation of the administration within the section.
    • Directs and controls telephone calls relating to complaints and Service requests by performing the necessary screening and redirecting calls where appropriate to ensure the correct people receive the calls pertaining to enquiries.
    • Action duties pertaining to leave administration. Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.

    REQUIREMENTS
