    Safety Coordinator:Occupational Health, Safety and Environment

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • B. Tech/National Diploma in Safety Management/Environmental Health.
    • Completion of the Safety and Management Training Course (SAMTRAC) advantageous.
    • A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
    • Computer literacy in Office applications.
    • One to two years’ practical experience in Safety Management after completion of a recognised apprenticeship or pupillage, inclusive of experience in task analysis and course design.

    Job purpose:

    • Coordinating tasks/activities pertaining to implementation, monitoring and reporting sequences of outcomes associated with Safety Management through the coordination of operations associated with the enforcement of policies, procedures and practices dictating health and safety in the Municipality, and execution of investigations of accidents/investigations.
    • As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.

    Artisan: Quality Control

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • Grade 12 (Matric) plus one-year relevant Trade Certificate.
    • A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
    • One to two years’ experience.

    The incumbent will be responsible for:

    • Maintaining an appropriate filing system to support safekeeping of documents.
    • Monitor health and safety requirements in terms of the OSH Act during inspections.
    • Provide feedback to supervisor on specific building activities by processing and consolidation of information/complaints recorded and/or extracting specific reports.

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • Relevant tertiary qualification.
    • Registration as a Grade A Examiner.
    • Valid Code A and EC driver’s licences.
    • Two to three years’ relevant experience.

    Job purpose:

    • Coordinating and controlling the Division’s administrative functionality and attending to the implementation of procedures, applications, systems and controls to facilitate and support the recording, updating, circulation and maintenance of information from/to the Driver’s Licence Testing Centre.

    Manager: Environmental Management System

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • Degree/B.Tech in Environmental Management.
    • Registration with Environmental Assessment Practitioners’ Association South Africa (EPASA) or similar professional body.
    • Computer literacy – MS Office applications.
    • A valid driver’s licence.
    • In-depth applications of the procedures, laws and by-laws applicable to functionality.
    • Five years’ relevant experience in the field.
    • Three to four years in middle management.

    Job purpose:

    • Initiating, managing, coordinating, facilitating and directing the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting sequences and outcomes associated with plans and programs designed to accomplish key strategic service delivery objectives with respect to Environmental Management through activities associated with strategic planning, the development, administration and maintenance of management plans for Coastal Nelson Mandela Metro Open Space System (NM MOSS) and Reserves and Natural Areas, the formation of Conservancies, evaluation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Land Use matters, sustainable development and implementation of the Environmental Management System and development of strategy for climate change, compliance with international environmental standards and performance of related administrative and personnel processes supporting accomplishment of service delivery objectives encapsulated in the Integrated Development Plan (IDP).

    Employee Assistance Programmes Officer: Occupation

    Qualification and experience required:

    • B.A. in Social Work (Honours).
    • Registration with South African Council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP).
    • EAP course an added advantage.
    • Computer literacy in MS Office.
    • A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
    • Three to four years’ relevant work experience.

    Job purpose:

    • Aligning and implementing the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) strategy and objectives through consultation and participation with internal forums/committees, developing and updating of EAP policies and practices, planning and programme design, individual counselling, formulating guidelines for HIV/AIDS programmes and maintaining, provision of management information, and evaluating the quality and adequacy of approved external interventions in developing the capacity and capability of programmes.
