    Manager : Utilities

    Description

    • We’re on the lookout for a Manager : Utilities the incumbent in this position ensures that the plant meets budgeted output, optimise plant efficiency, manage VP & Fixed costs, maintenance planning and SHE performance by leading and managing engineering/maintenance activities and operations activities

    As a Manager: Utilities, you will be responsible to:

    • Continually seek opportunities for the enhancement of the productivity and quality by applying TPM and Lean Manufacturing Principles.
    • Plans the plant operations to ensure the optimum utilisation of all resources.
    • Plans and manage shut and maintenance plans within the section.
    • Initiating and implementing engineering and maintenance standards and procedures.
    • Manages the plant operations to ensure the optimum utilisation of all resources.
    • Manages the shut process for effective execution.
    • Reviewing, initiating and implementing BOP standards and procedures.
    • Drive and mobilise the shift team and MDT to achieve OEE targets.
    • Investigating and preventing CSR's.
    • Ensuring the correct items are in stock to mitigate production risks.
    • Set goals and appraises immediate subordinates.
    • Ensures competency of all subordinates through adequate training, assessments and coaching.
    • Coordinate and engage the MDT - prioritise work amongst all disciplines.
    • Manage risks & ensure alignment between disciplines & ensure investigations are completed timeously.
    • Ensure that reoccurrences of incidents are prevented & conduct RCA's & incidental work.
    • Effective communication to all shifts i.e. strategy formulation, team goals, training plans & day-to-day interventions.
    • Implement changes as and when required.

    What are we looking for?

    Relevant Qualifications & Experience

    • BSc Degree or B-Tech or equivalent
    • GCC Factories – Advantageous.

    Minimum Experience

    • Minimum 5 – 8 years’ experience of which 3 years working on a Boiler operations/ maintenance.
    • 2 years’ Supervisory experience

    Administrator COE

    Description

    We are hiring!

We are seeking unique people who believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive and safe environment.  
    • We’re on the lookout for an experienced Administrator to complete administrative functions professionally and effectively within the laboratory at the Dissolving Pulp Centre of Excellence.

    As an Administrator, you will be responsible to:  

    • Receive pulp competitor samples and dissolving pulp mill samples, store in the pulp store and enter into the Sample Management system.
    • Issue and receipt of samples to and from laboratory projects . 
    • Compile consumable purchasing requirements weekly based on consumables stock counts and create weekly consumables purchase orders
    • Create notification and purchase requisitions for equipment repair and maintenance requirements
    • Update relevant rosters quarterly; equipment verifications, internal equipment calibrations, chemical preparation and standardisation rosters, housekeeping team rosters
    • Update status of SHEQ related action items e.g. from housekeeping inspections, improvement actions, safety suggestions SHEQ 
    • Coordinate job observation programme, collating and reporting monthly on observations
    • Prepare standard complaint graphs for quarterly CSR reporting, DP Cluster reports and for Saiccor Mill quarterly Site SHEQ meetings 
    • Assist with data downloads and spreadsheet  preparation for customer meetings and technical reviews
    • Coordinate administration functions i.e. ordering of Stationary and PPE requirements, printing of laboratory logbooks, arranging functions (arranging catering, booking venues, travel requirements)

    What are we looking for? 

    • Grade 12 with a Secretarial or Administration Qualification (NQF 4/5) 
    • 3 years  relevant experience within a similar environment
    • Strong computer literacy with competency in Microsoft Office 
    • Working experience with SAP and SharePoint will be considered advantageous
