    Technical Assistant - Cape Town

    Job Description    

    • We at Vector Logistics are in search for a Technical Assistant to join our Fleet Workshop team. The role will be based in Peninsula and report to the Diesel Mechanic. The incumbent will assist with the mechanical maintenance of infrasctructure and equipment.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric
    • N3 or Gr 12 with mechanical qualifications
    • 3 years’ relevant experience
    • Code 14 Drivers Licence

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • To perform assistance to the Diesel mechanic in performing preventative and ad-hoc maintenance on any of rigids, trucks and trailers fleet.
    • Maintain workshop appearance through housekeeping.
    • Assist with improvement/modifications on mechanical and auto electrical vehicles / equipment to improve equipment efficiencies.
    • Conduct planned maintenance/inspections as per job card schedule and sign off.
    • Once the job has been completed, send the job card to the Diesel Mechanic to approve the job done.
    • Assist with mechanical and auto electrical breakdowns.
    • When working night shift, some key responsibilities are the following: Oil and water checks on vehicles, auto electrical checks, in-cab temperature control checks, attend to after hour breakdowns, assess/report/repair any electrical/structural/mechanical repairs required on rigids/trucks/trailers as required.

    Trade Reconciliation Controller - Westville

    Job Description    
    RCL FOODS is currently looking for a Trade Reconciliation Controller to join the Vector Logistics Division. The position is based at our National Office in Westville and will report to the Commercial Officer.

    The purpose of the role is to prepare PSD trade creditor’s reconciliations and prepare payment (monthly average R340m). As a Trade reconciliation controller, the job holder is expected to make all process decisions that fall within the ambit of responsibility, solve transactional and some analytical problems within the function and identify and implement limited innovations, particularly those that will improve financial compliance, reporting and profitability through lowered costs.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Finance related diploma / degree
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience required
    • SAP R/3 experience preferable
    • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

    • Financial Reconciliation

     Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all companies:

    •  Co. 18 (Approximately 27 recons)

    •  Prepare the payroll vendor reconciliations.
    • Follow up and clear all reconciliation queries and variances.
    • Prepare the monthly consolidated bank recon/roll forward (SAP to bank statement).
    • Perform inter-company balancing checks during the month and at month end.
    • Perform the staff debtors’ reconciliation for certain business areas and follow up on outstanding documents/clearing.
    • Raise all month-end branch accruals and follow up with the regions.
    • Process all payroll related payments in SAP.
    • Process Lesotho border levy journals.
    • Prepare the McCain debtors reconciliation and liaise with the McCain creditors clerk to resolve queries.
    • Provide back up for the following treasury functions:
    • Collating daily cash expectations (expected deposits, payments to be made) and calculating the net funding required which is then communicated to Rainbow.
    • Preparing the daily cash management report for communication to the finance team and management, and ensuring maintenance of a positive bank balance.
    • Preparing journals relating to cash management.
    • Creating Standard Bank business on line payments.
