    Business Intelligence Specialist

    Job description

    The Business Intelligence Specialist contributes to the organisational goals by developing analytical models and, managing information delivery provided by Business Intelligence Analysts, to provide insight to the business for informed decision making at a tactical and strategic level.

    Deliver the Telesure Service Way through personal effort and through others.

    Support the Treating Customers Fairly principles by providing direction and monitoring t he delivery of the TCF behaviours and outcomes.

    Objectives

    • Create analytical models by translating business requirements to a framework that suits business analysis
    • Build data from Company systems into an analytical model that provides trends and patterns relating to any short-term insurance metrics
    • dentify insight from information contained within the general business intelligence (BI) models and present these insights
    • Demonstrate functionality of built BI models to target audience as per business request
    • Monitor user-acceptance testing of BI models
    • On-going monitoring and maintenance of BI solution
    • Training intervention attendance.
    • Application of training, initiatives and process changes.
    • Taking career development and performance management seriously (look for ways to improve competence/results.
    • Setting of own goals and working towards them. Continuous and constant improvement
    • Enable team through required business processes, systems, knowledge, etc.
    • Alignment of scorecards to overall business drivers and customer experience focus
    • Revise coaching needs and role profiles to customer focused context and expectations.
    • Operational efficiencies and re-engineering.
    • Monitor information delivered to business by the Business Intelligence Analyst
    • Delegate analytical requests from business to ensure timeous delivery of information
    • Communicate tactical objectives to ensure alignment with strategic goals
    • Lead, grow, develop, motivate, empower team.
    • Articulate and communicate key deliverables and business context to teams.
    • Design and implement FY management plan.
    • Focus on Development strategy, Shifts, Remuneration, Departmental strategy.
    • Ensure that business objectives and personal delivery aligns to and meets the TSW principles.
    • Leverage all available information from our partners, the industry, and internally to ensure we are constantly reviewing our departmental processes, systems and protocols with a view to improve efficiencies.
    • Analysing current performance inhibitors and finding solutions to ensure business continuity.
    • Develop and govern architectural development framework relating to BI models to ensure efficiency in information delivery

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    Grade 12 (Standard 10) with University Entrance (NQF4)

    Desirable:

    BSc/B Com Honours or relevant Post-Graduate qualification

    Experience:

    Essential:

    • 3 years in a Business Intelligence development role
    • 3-5 years’ experience in managing a team

    Desirable:

    • Qlikview development experience
    • Financial Services environment

    General Manager: Hippo STI Vertical

    Job description

    The General Manager: Hippo STI Vertical contributes to the organisational goals by strategically overseeing the Hippo STI business vertical. Effectively managing internal and external STI brands and partners to ensure the growth and profitability of these insurance offerings on Hippo. Relationship management with internal stakeholders in the STI environment and Upstream is a key component of ensuring the success of this role.

    Role Objectives:

    • To manage all parts of the STI environment on Hippo, to ensure growth in the business vertical.
    • To come up with strategies to enhance the STI offering on Hippo.
    • To look for and manage STI partners outside of Telesure.
    • To monitor sales, analyse data and report on a regular basis on the performance of the STI vertical.
    • To be innovative in terms of the STI offering on Hippo to ensure an enhanced customer experience.
    • To ensure effective campaign optimization through data management to meet leads targets.
    • To ensure effective cost management in line with business targets as well as to ensure top line and revenue growth.
    • Responsible for all aspects of staff resourcing, succession planning,
    • management and development ensuring the right people are in place to support
    • service delivery, achieving production and performance targets at all times.
    • To ensure adherence to all legislative, compliance, regulatory requirements in order to mitigate business risk.
    • To analyse business MI reports and provide appropriate insights and/or recommendations to respective business Heads.
    • Effectively build, maintain and manage relationships with internal departments (i.e. Marketing), colleagues and customers.
    • To continuously strive for optimum customer experience, reduce customer complaints and increase customer recommendation for the Hippo brand and service.
    • Deliver the Telesure Service Way through personal effort and through others.
    • Deliver on Treating Customers Fairly principles in alignment with regulatory requirements

    Educational Requirements:

    • Grade 12 (Standard 10) with University Entrance (NQF4)
    • RE1
    • A relevant 3 year Business related degree or diploma.

    Experience:

    • 3 - 5 years’ experience at senior management level, including previous people management experience
    • 3 – 5 years’ work experience in the following environment(s): Sales / Marketing / Financial services / Insurance / Medical and Life Call Centre Operations / General management experience.
