    Programme Director

    Job description

    Responsibilities

    • Facilitation of daily EDRO Academy class, weekly Saturday classes and quarterly Holiday Workshops that work with participants from Grade 4 to Grade 10.
    • Research of international best practice in the field of Computer Science instructional design.
    • Discovery, exploration, experimentation and documentation of novel lesson ideas utilising various robotics media.
    • Development and expansion of the existing EDRO programme.
    • Participation in the recruitment process of new EDRO facilitators.
    • Assist the Managing Director with the development of training programmes for new EDRO facilitators.
    • Performing qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the EDRO programme to assist in its ongoing development.
    • Reporting to management and the board on the status of the EDRO programme.

    Requirements

    • A sincere love of working creatively with large groups of children.
    • Education degree or diploma (PGCE, B.Ed., etc).
    • 3+ years’ experience teaching Mathematics at Upper Primary/ High School level.
    • 3+ years’ experience researching, designing and implementing well-structured, creative, highly effective lessons.
    • A well-established, confident classroom management strategy.
    • Own transport and valid driver’s licence.
    • Exceptional problem solving and problem setting skills.
    • Strong competence with Microsoft Office suit – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
    • A mature and internalised understanding of learning theory.
    • An ability to find inner-calm in chaotic environments.
    • A strong desire to learn fundamental Computer Science and international best practice around its pedagogy.
