    Business Analyst

    Job Description

    Dimagi is seeking a Business Analyst to support the implementation and delivery of large scale mHealth projects in Southern and Eastern Africa. As the Business Analyst you will lead the requirements management process throughout all phases of a project, acting as the main liaison between client teams and the Dimagi technical teams responsible for designing and building the solution that will contribute to a strong client program.

    The successful candidate will contribute to industry-changing improvements to frontline healthcare delivery in low resource settings. The position will include some travel both to larger metropolitan areas for partner meetings as well as the remote corners of the Southern and Eastern African countries where community workers use our products to improve rural health. You will join our team of local and international staff to learn and share best practices and expertise from across the globe.

    Compensation will depend on level of experience and qualifications but will be competitive with local rates.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the requirements management process from the start to end on large mHealth projects
    • Act as a liaison between client teams and Dimagi technical teams designing and building the solution that will create the desired impact.
    • Participate in client calls and onsite scoping trips as needed to gather and discuss needs and requirements
    • Lead the appropriate documentation, communication and sign off of requirements and specifications across multiple project stakeholders
    • Prioritize requirements and create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups
    • Develop thorough understanding of the relevant health protocols and processes of the client’s programs
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of Dimagi’s product, CommCare, and the latest features
    • Create maps, charts and workflow diagrams to represent business processes and design specifications
    • Create detailed, measurable, and testable requirements for use in solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
    • Lead initial rounds of User Acceptance Testing
    • Perform analysis of complex data sources and create specification for data mapping and reports
    • Implement industry best practices and processes across projects
    • Provide training and mentorship to other team members on best practices and appropriate tools
    • Manage a team of 2 - 3 Field Managers

    Skills & Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
    • 4-6 years experience in Business Analysis
    • Led requirements identification and prioritization efforts for large scale business or technology projects
    • Familiarity and experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
    • Ability to self-manage
    • Solid planning, time management, and organization skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated analytical skills
    • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work assignments effectively, as well as work with minimal oversight
    • Ability to travel internationally up to 50%
    • Interested and able to work in a multi-cultural, distributed, and international team setting
    • Eligible to work in South Africa
    • Desire to make a social impact

    Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • 6 - 8+ years of work experience
    • Certified Business Analysis Professional, CBAP certification preferred.
    • Experience working in an international team
    • Knowledge of healthcare systems across Africa
    • French, Portuguese or Spanish speaking
