Purpose of the Job

• Brings to JV Management, Region & Sector Management and Corporate a regular true and fair view of JV Finance activity (monthly/yearly closing, budgets and forecasts), ensuring compliance with local accounting & tax regulations (statutory), Group accounting standards and Internal Control rules & principles.
• Assists and advises the JV Management Committee and CFO with all financial matters relative to the JV. Supports, challenges and monitors the JV objectives through production of complete JV financial results and businesses performance analysis, including appropriate KPIs.
• Ensures that all operational managers in the JV get the adequate support from the Finance Organization.
• Establishes close functional working relationships with the AT Finance Middle East Africa and Sector Finance Representatives in order to ensure alignment of the JV financial strategy with Sector objectives.
• Manages directly relevant JV finance (non – project controlling) community.

Responsibilities

• Support to Business
• Assists and advises the JV CFO for all financial matters relative to the JV and monitor the JV objectives through performance monitoring.
• Ensures that all operational managers in the JV get the adequate support from the finance organization
• Assist the CFO and the Risk team with insurance renewal
• Processes & Core-model
• Provides expertise, supports and promotes best practices to implement within the JV
• Tools/ORGA improvement
• Ensures effective use of tools by sites under his authority
• Internal Control
• Ensures JV’s compliance, the JV’s processes and procedures will be close to AT rules
• Financing & Treasury
• Drives process in JV
• Ensures cash optimization for the interest of the AT Sector
• Taxes
• Participate in JV tax optimization.
• Strategy
• Financial partner, in charge of co-establishing financial strategy and the corresponding objectives with the JV CFO, implement, promote and monitor the Finance JV strategy.
• Project Controlling
• Challenges projects financial data in order to help JV Management team to keep projects under control.
• Accounting
• Drives process in JV en ensure compliance with local regulations
• Budget
• Responsible for JV budget process
• Closing
• Responsible for JV Statutory & Management Reports
• Manages Auditors and co-ordinates their activity
• Participates to the JV Closing Exit Meetings with the External auditors
• Reporting
• Responsible for establishing the JVs reports to be integrated in the AT systems & Reporting
• Support BBBEE/Economic development team in controllership and reporting.
• Prepare monthly reports for submission to shareholders
• Results Meetings
• Presents the JV results to the AT Management Team
• Prepare Audit Committee and Board reports

Candidate Requirements

• Honours degree in Accounting with 10 years of qualifying work experience in an international environment required
• CA(SA) certification
• Good knowledge of IFRS
• Highly developed people management skill
• Ability to work with various administrative levels in the Alstom group
• Ability to work individually and as a team member
• Ability to alert the management on financial risks with the right anticipation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent inter-personal as well as conflict management skills
• Capable of evaluating controls in a changing environment
• Highly motivated and possessing a strong understanding of business
• Experienced in internal controls and processes driving
• Transparent and strong problem solving skills
• Exposure to a manufacturing environment is essential
