Prototyping Tech Analyst at Lacuna Innovation

Job description

Lacuna is currently witnessing growth and is looking for an individual to pro-actively and independently add value to a dynamic, multi-skilled and passionate group of individuals; being able to build, programme, code and prototype a variety of innovation concepts across multiple industries and business focus areas. The successful candidate will work together with the team, delivering world-class inspiration on a full-time basis.

Areas of Involvement:

• Design thinking principles, lean methodologies and UX/UI elements
• Prototype development for hardware and software product solutions

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for projects relating to developing business opportunities and innovation concepts for our clients, as prototypes to serve as proof of concept for commercialisation
• Work closely with sales team to research the existing customer base and analyse historical customer data for trends for new or missed opportunities
• Under limited supervision, identifies possible innovation concepts across all projects pertaining to multiple industries; testing their viability through research and practical prototype development
• Advise business of equipment, budget requirements and competencies required to achieve set objectives
• Working together with the broader team to formulate viable complimentary business models with estimate pricing models, scoping strategies for scaling proposed projects and prototypes
• Working together with design team to visually demonstrate product capabilities
• May be required to travel to customer locations for various reasons such as training, customer relationship maintenance, delivering presentations and demonstrations, etc.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Qualification in Industrial Design, Information Technology or related field of study
• +- 2 years in a related role
• MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint experience is a pre-requisite
• Familiarity with developing and delivering hardware and software designs
• Strong experience in application user interface design and interactive application design
• Experience in building tangible products and business models
