Frost & Sullivan Cape Town is looking for a bright and enthusiastic analyst to join its Energy and Environment team. The team covers power generation, renewable energy, smart energy, water and waste within the African continent.

The role is for a Senior Industry Analyst (SIA) as we look to shape the next stage of growth within this well established practice area. The successful candidate will help grow the business through the delivery of cutting edge research, development of strong client relationships and the promotion of the Frost brand through trade show attendance, speaking engagements, client engagements and press quotes.

The SIA will specifically focus on the power generation and smart energy segments and will work on client projects covering market analysis and strategic options definition, looking at long and shorter term opportunities, business model definition, growth strategy, product & service roadmap, analysis of market entry options and many more topics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilising market research methods such as primary and secondary data collection, quantitative and forecast model building, qualitative analysis and research report writing
• Deliver cutting edge, thought provoking research reports together with high quality and insightful consulting projects, on time and within budget.
• Provide support to the international Frost team during delivery of African focused consulting projects
• Business development and client support which will include trade show attendance, speaking engagements, client engagements and press quotes
• Exhibit strong, and improve, forecasting/modelling skills
• Develop new market consulting skills, such as advanced modelling, public speaking, and provocative writing
• Initiate and participate in Research Review and Strategic Review Meetings

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

• Master’s degree
• 5 to 10 years of experience in African energy management consulting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with complete fluency in English.
• Experience in an international environment will be a bonus
• Advanced MS Office applications skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• The ability to work autonomously and also effectively in a team entourage.

Desired:

• A post graduate qualification is an advantage (e.g. PhD or MBA).
• Knowledge of other languages (French, Portuguese, etc.) will be an advantage.
