Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

Implement innovation

• Conduct manual and automated tests on different software
• Implement approved test cases from developed test plans specific for software
• Provide input into testing standards, methodologies and processes
• Investigates new ways to improve the current test processes and improve on continuous integration within the teams

Achieve IT objectives

• Assist in the preparation of the test plans and test scripts for each software component to demonstrate the business condition under test and to see potential results
• Conduct testing for specified operational changes which may require creating detailed test cases/scripts from the requirements
• Conduct testing for projects or enhancements when the need arises
• Build detailed test cases/scripts from a BRS, FRS or SDD when required
• Identify and investigate areas that require: further analysis; a decision; development change
• Carry out adhoc tasks related to the Senior Test Analyst function when requested to do so which may include, but not be limited to assisting with user training; input and reviewing of training material and reviewing of specifications
• Provide regular (agreed time-frame) feedback to the BA, PM, Development team and management through the agreed channels which will include reporting on defects, delays in testing activities or problems arising from variances
• Ensure that the work is carried out with the quality required and according to the predetermined schedule
• Promotes team spirit and encourages collaboration between all team members
• Mentors less experienced staff and consults with peers
• Perform reviews of test scripts, test scenarios and test cases

Reporting

Report defects and problems that occurred during the test process

Requirements

Qualifications & Accreditations

• IT Degree / Diploma
• International ISEB/ISTQB foundation qualification is required
• Advanced Test Analyst ISEB/ISTQB qualification is preferred

Experience & Skills

• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a testing role
• Broad understanding of a testing methodology
• Understanding of requirements
• Uses structured techniques to solve fundamental problems within one’s own work
• Exposure to test automation tools .i.e. UFT, Selenium
• Exposure to test management software such as MTM 2015, Quality Centre, Test link
• Ensure that SDLC – Testing component is met.
• Experience in web and mobile testing
• Experience within a financial services environment would be an added advantage
