Network Engineer

Job description

Responsibilities include:
- Technical
- Network architecture and design
- Router and switch configurations
- Network security
- Network documentation
- Implementation of standards and best practices
- Growth and scaling of the network
- Technical solution design and implementation
- Network monitoring
- Problem troubleshooting
- Accreditation and certification
- Administrative
- Uptime management and service levels
- Management participation & reporting
- Engaging with the industry (keeping informed)
Requirements:
- Current CCNP & MCSE certifications
- Experience in national ISP environments
- Familiarity with: Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, VLAN, VoIP (SIP / RTP)
- Last mile services include: FTTB, FTTH, xDSL
- Comfort with various hardware manufacturers: Cisco, Extreme, Huawei, Juniper, HP, Fortigate, Sophos, Sonicwall, Microtik etc.
- A relevant tertiary BSc qualification would be an advantage.
