What you’ll bring to the team:

    • Always uncovering the customer’s true needs through knowing our business, enquiry and learning the client’s business.

    • Not settling for simply delivering stated requirements, but always striving to add real value.

    • Build teams - not through telling people what to do but rather coaching them to find the right solutions and make decisions. Be an enabler rather – not a micro-manager. Remove blockages to allow teams get on with the work.

    • Add maximum value and fully leverage teams by:

    • Running ahead of the project team to make sure any potential roadblocks are timeously identified (or even removed) before the team stumble on them.

    • Delegating to develop resource skill-sets and free yourself up to focus on what’s important, such as customer relationships, communication, leading and motivating, de-risking the project and steering the focus to the vision - always.
    • Challenging the status quo – whilst complying with IRESS’s PMO methodology and actively employing our artefacts, strive to deliver change in better, cheaper, faster ways. Constantly assess what new technologies can be can employed, which extra benefits can be delivered and how processes can be improved. Encourage yourself – and the team – to think in new and unfamiliar patterns and ask questions such as “why”, “how” and “what if”.

    • Gaining visibility for and strengthening buy-in to your projects through getting senior management involved and building great relationships based in trust with all project stakeholders. Proactively listen to stakeholders’ concerns and act upon their feedback to strengthen buy-in and commitment. Never shy away from initiating a difficult conversation.

    • Instilling a risk-awareness culture in project teams by consistently asking people what they worry about, what is impeding their work and what could potentially go wrong. Constantly assess the impact on factors such as time, cost, quality and benefits if a requirement changes.

    • Delivering on your promises – ALWAYS - do what you say you will and assist team members to do the same.

    • Consciously sharing your knowledge and actively seeking knowledge / answers.

    • Acting as an ambassador for the Project Management Office.

    • Being an example for “making things happen”.
