    Service Sales Manager

    Job description

    Are you the new service-minded team player we are looking for?

    At Valmet, we serve our customers keeping in mind our core commitments: safety comes first, close to customers, solutions to your needs and people you can trust.

    As a service sales manager, you’ll serve our customers providing sales advice and quotations on Valmet products and solutions. You’ll work independently to present and offer service solutions to the customer. You will be looking for opportunities to offer replacement of competitor equipment and upgrade Valmet equipment. You’ll participate in various sales meetings in South Africa and possibly Finland. Your work will be South Africa wide and you will be required to travel frequently.

    You’ll promote service sales solutions that brings added value to our customers.

    It will belong to your responsibilities:

    • To get profitable orders of Service AUT BL products by managing and following Service AUT BL sales process;
    • To establish deep relationships with customers at multiple levels; understanding the customers’ business and mode of operation, know customer needs and create needs of our products;
    • To develop the service sales business in South Africa area and reach growth of installed base by getting repeat orders from existing customers, getting orders from new customers and from competitor replacements;
    • To implement service sales and delivery process rules and development by following the agreed practices like monthly reporting, sales meetings, updating databases, etc.;
    • To support and co-operate with sales colleagues within own and their sales projects;
    • To support and co-operate with other Valmet BL sales by getting and forwarding sales leads, preparing customer sales plans.
    • To actively participate in marketing activities like giving presentations in customer seminars, creating success stories, etc.

    Requirements:

    • Relevant educational background such as Bachelor degree or relevant Technical qualification in engineering.
    • Preferably 2-5 years of relevant experience in the field of sales in automation field (you do not need to have experience in Valmet applications, but experience in similar systems or paper mills is required)
    • Ability to work under pressure in different customer situations and in different cultural environments
    • Self-managed and ability to set your own daily and weekly sales priorities with the customer
    • Passion for serving customers and for collaborating with your colleagues
    • Passion for applying world-class technology to our customers’ benefit
    • Knowledge of our customers’ processes and/or automation technology are considered as an advantage
    • Fluent in English. Other languages are plus.
    • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel, as a lot of the time will be travel based.
    • Ability to generate profitable sales of Service AUT BL products in South Africa.
    • Strong business sense to find service sales opportunities, make sales strategy to identify required actions and achieve sales targets;
    • Strong competence to identify sales opportunities, building and maintaining good relationship with customers, conducting critical negations to get sales deals.
