Key Responsibility Areas:

• Prepares the strategic policy documents of the Mitigation Office to enhance climate finance
• Prepares appropriately sound climate finance contracts and funding proposals.
• Develops appropriate means for administrative, fiscal and financial control of just energy transition.
• Develops and implement efficient, climate finance legislation (local, provincial, national or international level).
• Protects the interests of the Municipality where test cases occur which may vitally influence the policies and laws applicable to the City to alternative sources of energy and carbon.
• Undertakes or participates in other special projects, involving the interface between finance, economics and law or municipal, provincial and national government and commercial institutions and instruments as may be assigned by the city.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree (NQF level 7) in Climate Change and Sustainable Development or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• Registered as a Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat) with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license
• 6 years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

• Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Climate Change and Sustainable Development or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• 7 years relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Essential Experience 6 Years relevant experience.
• Preferred Experience 8 Years relevant experience.
• Essential Qualifications Relevant 3 year tertiary qualification, i.e. Diploma or Degree.
• Preferred Qualifications Relevant Masters or Doctoral Degree
