    Job Description

    • Repairs punctures, replaces components / batteries on charge and cleans engine parts with the required liquids / detergents. 
    • Jacks vehicle, removes wheels, assemble tools, materials and waste containers in preparation for repairs, maintenance and servicing of vehicles and equipment. 
    • Undertakes minor servicing of vehicles, i.e. changing oil, greasing of all relevant parts, removal and replacement of oil / fuel filters as well as air cleaners / filters.

    Job Purpose:

     

    • Performs testing, safety and maintenance inspections to identify hazardous conditions, noncompliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (1993) and compliance with proper operational standards.

    • Inspects medium and high voltage equipment, monitors pressure alarms and undertakes tests necessary to determine maintenance requirements on medium and high voltage equipment.

    Principal Training Officer

    Job Purpose:

    • To manage and coordinate all functions of the ICT Training Centre and to plan, design and market all courses presented by the eThekwini Municipal Academy to all Directorates thus promoting the strategic mission and goals of the Academy.

    Climate Change Scientist

    Key Responsibility Areas:

    CLIMATE CHANGE SCIENTIST

    • Contributes to the preparation and implementation of the Ethekwini Municipality’s Climate Protection Programme (EMCPP) and strategic municipal plans.

    Administration Officer (Vehicle Licensing)

    Key Responsibility Areas:

    • Ensures that all financial functions are completed timeously and accurately.
    • Supervision and control of staff.
    • Attends to queries and provides assistance to the public.
    • Calculates outstanding fees and wavering certain fees.
    • Obtains affidavits to assist with waiver of certain fees.
    • Maintains an adequate level of stock, e.g. stationery, documents and forms.
    • Prepares and responds to all incoming mail / documentation.
    • Issues statements regarding theft and fraud cases.
    • Attends court to submit evidence and supporting documentation.
    • Co-ordinates and controls all electronic equipment, computers, printers, furniture and stock requirements.
