    Job Description

    The Retail Business Manager (internally called Lead Apple Solutions Consultant - ASC) is an Apple business manager and influencer across a number of reseller locations - consumer and telecommunications. The Lead ASC’s role is to grow the Apple product and add-on business in the stores. They are held accountable for performance by providing excellent customer service, giving product demonstrations, and ensuring all Apple fixtures and merchandising elements are up to date and maintained according to Apple’s standards. Your passion, knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit will transfer to the retail partner’s sales staff to drive their success.

    You will also be required to maintain flawless merchandising as well as build a community of loyal Apple customers. This will be possible through deployment of best in class training programs, analysing results, and through identifying and executing potential programs for the store.

    We have roles in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

    Description:

    The Lead ASC has the following responsibilities to fulfil as they relate to four different audiences:

     Customer

    The Lead ASC is responsible for ensuring an excellent Apple Customer Experience at all times.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Promoting Apple products and solutions by communicating the benefits and values of the products through product demonstrations.
    • Conducting 1:1 and 1:many (where applicable) product demonstrations using World Wide developed demo scripts for guidance.
    • Building a community of loyal Apple customers who will come back to consult the Lead ASC on future Apple purchases.

    Reseller Staff/Management


    A successful Lead ASC proves him or herself relevant to a Reseller’s management team and is able to gain support without authority. Because the Lead ASC oversees a number of points of sale, the relationships he or she develops with store managers is invaluable to the success of the shop. He/she has strong business acumen and understanding of the Reseller’s business and goals.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Acting as a promoter of the Apple brand to Reseller’s staff / management, and keeping them engaged and up to date on Apple’s latest and greatest products.
    • Understand what the Reseller’s business goals are and link Apple’s goals to theirs.
    • Identifying and maintaining a “virtual team” of key staff members who the Lead ASC will train and transform into Apple Professional / Experts. The training of the “virtual team” is critical, as they will depend on this group to support Apple’s business in every way.

     In-Store Merchandising


    The Lead ASC operates as the business manager for a group of Points of Sales. As such, it is the Lead ASC’s responsibility to train the virtual team to maintain the quality and appearance of the in-store merchandising in order to give the customer and Reseller the best possible Apple experience.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Enabling the virtual team to ensure all merchandising elements (including demo content, as well as all 2D and 3D elements) are up to date and follow Apple worldwide standards.
    • Enabling the virtual team to provide daily care and maintaining tidiness according to worldwide guidelines.
    • Flag to his/her manager any maintenance issues with any Apple merchandising execution in the store. 


    Apple Corporate/Manager

    
The Lead ASC is able to provide key insights on the Apple business in a singular storefront, and identify business opportunities.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Monitoring performance results and inventory levels.
    • Monitoring regular competitive/trend tracking.
    • Providing insightful feedback that will help to further develop and improve upon Apple Shop performance.

    Education:

    Ideally Degree educated with demonstrated experience in a retail environment.
