    PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

    The Presales Solution Specialist will focus on SAP database and technology solutions. S/he possesses advanced/expert level knowledge of SAP and partner software solutions and participates in sales cycles as a member of the vurtual account team in support of the sales account strategy. Pre Sales specialist interacts with prospective customers through executive meetings, discovery conversations, solution demonstrations, executive presentations and follow-up discussions. The role of the solution specialist during an active sales cycle is to gain acceptance from the customer that SAP solution can solve the customer’s problem and is the right choice over the other competitive offerings.

    EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

    Deal Support

    • Compose and deliver superior sales presentations covering SAP and partner software solutions and participates in sales cycles as a member of the virtual acocunt team in support of the sales account strategy. The presentations must articulate the sales message, differentiate SAP, and leave a strong and positive impression to audiences which can include senior company executives.
    • Prepare and deliver value based software demonstrations/presentations in support of sales cycles. Preparation includes personalization of demos to ensure delivery of a simple, appealing and compelling customer presentation.
    • In advance of a demonstration or key presentation, conduct discovery sessions with representatives from the prospective customer. A discovery session is an interview to identify and understand key pain points which will determine the value drivers and solution enablers for the presentation.
    • Demonstrate deep knowledge of SAP solutions and appropiate industries inorder to maintain credibility with prospective customers. Provide proof points with relevant customer stories.
    • Deep understanding of SAP technology platforms and high level architecture
    • Understanding of business process integration and management
    • Complete sections of SAP responses to RFIs and RFPs to be able to lead as a solution captain when deals require complex solutions and require multiple presales to participate to support a successful presentation or demo
    • Ability to effectively demonstrate the solutions for customers leveraging the virtual remote studios
    • Post-sale, communicate the business requirements to the project/implementation team to ensure a smooth transition

    Demand Generation

    • Collaborate with sales teams to participate in various one-to-many lead generating activities
    • Can particpate in and lead account planning workshops with internal SAP members as well as customers
    • Participates in marketing events such as SAPPHIRE, SAP Insider and conferences for specific industries or solution areas
    • Participate in and support various partner business development initiatives to further SAP solutions being sold through direct and indirect license business
    • Collaborate with the sales team to identify whitespace opportunities at accounts

    Education And Qualifications / Skills And Competencies

    • Expert knowledge/expertise on end to end processes/solution matching
    • Experience in sales and sales processes
    • Experience in SAP technology platforms/support (Netweaver)
    • Experience in SAP integration
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills
    • Bachelor equivalent: minimum requirement

    • 3-5 years of solution specialist or presales experience
