An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 2nd Engineer responsible for the safety, navigation, cleanliness and operation of a trawler and the total complement on board and who directs fishing operations of the vessel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE:

• 3 Years experience sailing as a 2nd Engineer on Fishing Vessels

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Motorman Grade 1 or 2nd Engineer Fishing under 2000kw

COURSES COMPLETED:

• Annual Medical
• Advance Fire Fighting
• PSSR
• CISC
• Marine Fire Fighting
• Marine First Aid

JOB SPECIFICATION:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Watch Keeping Duties
• Assist Chief Engineer in charge of safe running , maintenance and repair of all machinery on the vessel
• Assistance in Maintenance& servicing of machinery includes:
• Main engine
• Auxiliary engine
• Deck hydraulic winches
• Factory hydraulics
• Freon domestic and Refer plant
• Piano Heading Machine
• Flo Ice Machinery and Air Cond. Plant
• Must be able to use gas and arc welding plants safe and must
• have good understanding of electricity.
• Responsible for general housekeeping of all engine room
• All electrical repairs and maintenance
• All admin work e.g. log sheets, running hours , work lists etc Safety Officer on board
• In the absence of Chief Engineer supervises Staff in engine room managed by chief engineer Achieve tons per sea day as per business plan.
• Assist in Supervising of, 3rd Engineer, Greasers (x2)
