Collaborative Demand and NPD Planner at The South African Breweries (SAB)

Job Description

The key purpose of this role is to enhance the business volume forecasts through collaboration with relevant stakeholders on demand drivers for the entire planning horison and to manage the optimal planned introduction of new products into the various markets within the Africa Zone.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on all demand drivers that influence the operational and tactical horisonsof the demand plan
• Analyse collaborative info and deliver detailed input into the base forecast across the entire horison in order to deliver value add to the forecast in terms of accuracy, quality and stability
• Prepare and run the monthly Demand Review in order to align the organisation to the latest demand plan and manage the sign off process
• Cash up the latest demand plan, identify gaps against volume and value and facilitate the necessary discussions focused around closing any gaps in the plan
• Compile and maintain a database of assumptions that underpin the tactical forecast and conduct review sessions on these assumptions to facilitate the building of corporate memory
• Monitor macro and micro environmental information to understand and advise on the impact thereof on the business demand plans
• Support strategic volume, budget and scenario planning processes
• Produce root causes analysis reports with corrective actions for demand accuracy problem areas.
• Support the planning process for new products and/or promotions to ensure accelerated implementation with reduced business risk
• Manage the process for identifying and removing SKUs from the product portfolio
• Provide insights and reporting to business on latest sales and forecast trends, performance and risks to the plan
• Determine causality between key drivers of demand in order to improve our input to the demand plan
• The ideal candidate should hold a 3 year Bachelor level commercial or similar degree or equivalent tertiary education with 3 to 5 years experience in sales planning or supply chain disciplines in an FMCG environment.
