    HR Manager


    Job description

    An exciting opportunity exists for an individual to join the HR team of Brolink as HR Manager. The HR Manager will be responsible to manage the daily operational activities in the HR department and to provide support to the HR staff, management, business units and employees. These responsibilities include, but is not limited to:

    Recruitment: Oversee the recruitment and on-boarding function and ensure adherence to the processes and best practice.

    • Industrial Relations: Provide advice to management regarding IR matters. Ensure overall risk management in IR by applying best practice and fairness principles. Provide training to managers as required. Signoff on all IR related documentation (warnings, disciplinary notices etc.). Draft new staff contract templates and documentation as needed. Handle employee grievances as per company procedure. Update company policies and procedures as required.
    • Performance management: Monitor and control bi-annual performance appraisals, provide training when required. Handle poor performance matters as per company procedure.
    • Employment Equity & BBBEE: Chair the EE Forum, draft EE plan, attend NEEF meetings at Santam. Submit monthly reports to CFO, Santam and Department of Labour as required. Ensure adherence to EE target.
    • Training and Development: Manage the overall training and development initiatives, submit reports as required to Santam and Department of Labour, monitor learnerships and internships, liaise with Inseta when necessary, make suggestions to company to achieve BBBEE target for training.
    • Employee benefits: Attend meetings with brokers and provident fund committee, implement changes as required and manage EE wellness campaigns.
    • People management: Performance management, coaching and mentoring of HR employees as required.
    • Payroll: Ensure accurate and timely payroll. Provide reports to management as required. Assist auditors with payroll audit.
    • HR Administration: Monitor and control record keeping of files and systems, monitor overall compliance and confidentiality, ensure quality assurance on staff information and systems.
    • Business support: Liaise with all stakeholders and resolve queries and conflict as needed and according to company processes.
    • Special working conditions (e.g. shift work, irregular hours, overtime, open plan office, travel)

    The positoin is based in Centurion. The candidate will be required to travel from time to time to Santam and to branches (Middelburg, van der Bijl Park and Bloemfontein).

    Language Speak Read Write Reasons

    English (read, write, speak)

    Qualification & Education Required Preferred

    Post graduate qualification (Diploma or Degree) in Human Resources.

    Work Experience

    • HR management At least 3 years’ experience in a HR Management role.
    • Payroll- It would be beneficial if the candidate has a basic understanding of payroll.
    • Industrial relations-Must have experience in dealing with disciplinary enquiries and CCMA hearings.
    • People management-At least 3 years’ experience in people management.

    Technical competencies

    • Computer Literacy
    • Exposure to a payroll system
    • Stay up to date with labour legislation (LRA, SDA, Health & Safety, EE, POPI etc.) and HR best practice.
