Job Description

Millar Cameron is an international recruitment company, specialising in aquaculture.

We are currently representing a private equity-owned aquaculture company who are looking to bring in a commercial and operational CEO with a background in pisciculture to improve the efficiency of operations.

The business is operational, specialises in fresh water fish farming and has 100 employers.

Current production levels are 1000 tons per year, however it will increase up to 2-3000 tonnes per year with the aim to reach 10,000 tonnes within 3-4 years.

The CEO’s responsibilities will be as follows:

• Oversee all operational responsibility on the farm and look to increase production efficiency.
• Review all processes and implement change
• Analyse and assess current commercial channels and look to develop new relationships.
• Increase production levels whilst maintaining a positive working culture.
• Community relationship management
• Explore value add processing.

We require you to have the following skill set:

• Experience in the fish sector: strong technical competence twinned with understanding other parts of the value chain.
• Operational: relishes a practical challenge and experienced in building systems which have operational efficiency.
• Entrepreneurial: being able to identify and build upon growth opportunities.
• The ability to work with a team and bring people together, you must possess good mediation skills
• Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail
• Strong commercial and sales/marketing experience
• Possessing a very hands-on approach.
• Drive and tenacity
• The ability to work and live in a remote, but safe environment
