    Senior Accountant

    Job description

    The Senior Accountant is required to coordinate all Financial reporting activities for the MEA region. This includes statutory reporting, management reporting and quarterly corporate reporting to Ford Motor Company head office. Strong technical skills, analytical ability and communication skills are required.

    Position Details:

    • Co-ordinate Financial Reporting for MEA Skill team.
    • Validate the quality of source data input from functions and ensure financials are aligned with business physicals.
    • Must be able to interpret and explain physical drivers of absolute costs and variances.
    • Conduct discussions with markets and cross functional departments to ensure alignment with reporting decks and metrics
    • Prepare presentations for MEA & Corporate management reviews as and when required
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as they are required
    • Review MCRP for FMCSA Accounting processes and coordinate MCRP completion for FIBDI.
    • Drive efforts to implement OICs on time
    • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements for all legal entities within the Region in line with IFRS and US GAAP requirements
    • Preparing monthly and quarterly Balance sheet review presentations
    • Coordinating monthly reviews for Receivables, Reconciliations and Inventory
    • Coordinating quarterly reviews for Fixed Assets, Taxation and Key reserves
    • Compile monthly metrics on key deliverables and distribute to stakeholders
    • Provide support to the operating committee through coordinating ad-hoc projects
    • Providing guidance and training to Finance employees
    • Reviewing month-end results to ensure accuracy and completeness
    • Coordinate all audit engagements and ensure the timely completion thereof    

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Good communication and listening skills
    • Self-starter and team player
    • Good command of key IT tools, particularly MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Should have good analytical, numerical and research skills.
    • Attention to detail
    • Be able to present to senior management
    • Be able to work under pressure
    • Ensure deadlines are met
    • Proficient in English language
    • Capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgment

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Qualified CA(SA)
    • Minimum 2-3 years Post articles experience
    • Automotive experience would be beneficial
    • The roles requires a solid demonstration of understanding knowledge on relevant aspects of financial reporting and technical expertise
