Payments Product Manager at Yoco

Job description

Yoco is looking for a Payments Product Manager to help manage Yoco integration projects and to manage all payment related projects going forward. The ideal candidate has extensive experience as a product manager for SME or small business solutions and has performed well previously in a rapidly changing and growing organization. They have a thirst to dive deep into the payment details to extract the hidden gems that lie within the apis of financial services in South Africa and across the continent .

ROLE | WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

Key Responsibilities

• Develop product strategy and roadmaps for features related to our payments and transactional focused business solutions.
• Manage and source partners to enable the rollout of new financial and payment products.
• A solid technical competence in order to assist in the development of appropriate planning, prioritization, and release management processes.
• Managing and mediating cross company projects with our partners and banks.
• Drive superb execution against planning, anticipating staffing needs, risks, and the need for frequent and clear communication internally and with customers.
• Be part of prioritizing and design features for the thousands of customers who use Yoco to grow and manage their businesses every day.
• Manage the rollout of beta programs, the on-boarding of our initial customer base, and the P&L of new product offerings.
• Develop effective reports that help the rest of the company understand the performance of the various product lines you manage.

IDEAL CANDIDATE | WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

Key Requirements To Perform Responsibilities

• Product management experience building, maintaining, designing, researching and integrating new financial solutions for our customers.
• Strong technically knowledge of how card payments work, the pieces involved and how things need to connect - having worked in a payments field (i.e. a bank or a payment processor) is highly beneficial.
• A good understanding of the problems that small businesses face, and a willingness to hit the ground and get your hands dirty.
• Passionate about Yoco and the problem we are solving
• Relentless desire to understand customers
• Natural talent for msediating competing interests and finding creative solutions
• Great track record of working with engineering and design teams: people want to work with you again
• Highly organised, strong ability to coordinate with people and do follow ups when necessary.
• Fast learner with an agile way of thinking
• Exposure to ISO8583 is highly beneficial
