PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Playing a specialist role within the Business Information Management space as an integrator of Systems, Data, Processes and People, by applying sound Information Engineering principles, in order to improve efficiencies, productivity and lead times by enabling the CAR Operations Model with Integrated Planning, Spatial Integration, Holistic Reporting and Unitary Processes across all sites

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Has good understanding of the business value chain to proactively identify integration opportunities
• Recognises the potential for automation of the processes, alternative approaches to performing business activities, assess the costs and potential benefits of the new approaches considered
• Adopts a creative approach in initiating and generating integration actions and proposals. Is able to exploit current systems, knowledge and resources to generate new ways of improving already successful practices by:
• Innovatively working with the existing system assets to improve the data value chain
• Taking an holistic approach
• Collaborate closely with system owners to understand and solve their integration needs and share accountability with them for benefit realization
• Accountable for the Data Integration services to the business
• Develop and maintain a TOGAF based data architecture for CAR
• Provide the Senior Manager: CAR Information Management with feedback and reports regarding progress, resource requirements and investment requirements.
• Manage the CAR IM Data Integration Stream within the MIS improvement program (scoping, design, implementation, support, value delivery and enhancements) while leveraging off the AGA IM Shared Services capabilities
• Identify opportunities to optimize the Information availability in the region with a focus on improving effectiveness and efficiency of the business processes
• Works within the framework of IM Governance, Technology and Standards
• Demonstrate behaviour that is consistent with the AGA Vision and Values

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or NQF7 equivalent qualification.
• B.Eng (Industrial), or
• B.Sc (Computer Science)

Experience:

• 5-10 Years’ working experience
• At least 5 Years in Information Management, 3 years as a systems integrator
• Demonstrated ability as an Integrator within an Information System landscape including architecture, design, integration and solution design
• Proven Project Management skills & experience in an IT/IM environment
• Demonstrated ability in business process optimization leveraging of Information Technology
• Adequately matured as a person with interpersonal skills to influence people and the business
• Excellent written and oral communication and report writing skills
• Fluency in English essential, fluency in French would be an advantage
• Strong analytical & integration skills
• Strong communication skills

Must have relevant knowledge of:

• Mining value chain and key business processes
• TOGAF 9
• Information Engineering
• Data Architecture and Data Science
• Data Integration across systems, using middleware
• ERP systems
• Operational technical, planning and reporting systems in a mining environment
• IT/IM System design, implementation and support
